Hello lover! It's spring in Berlin! And as we are watching people passing the office in the blistering spring sun, we come with exciting news. We are extremely happy to lift your weekend with a beautiful premiere. In comes one of two stunning tracks of Francas new EP; Nootropic.

The EP “Microdosing” honours its name and takes you on a mini trip. Travel with the German beauty on a deep and grooving jaunt. Like other musicians the past year, Franca took a turn downtempo. But she leads you to a land of curiously uplifting downtempo. An EP that proves that slow(er) can still create a rush. We absolutely love it!

Featuring two original tracks “Microdosing” and “Nootropic” and a remix of each (care of David Hasert & Francesco Mami and Philipp Fein), the EP is accented with just the right amount of simmering sleaze to bend you sideways. Wander deeply, lovelies—and don’t forget—low is the new high.

To remix his new single Time Again, Jan Blomqvist thoughtfully selected North Germany's Peer Kusiv and Ryan Mathiesen, a west coast Canadian living in Berlin. 

Peer Kusiv has become almost a household name here in Germany as his emotional pop-inspired deep house reworks and originals have been consistently lighting up dancefloors over the past 2 years. Exceeding expectations, Peer Kusiv turned in a bright, upbeat mix pulsing with airy synth spirals and near cosmic pad and reverb work that is as fit for a main room club system as it is for an open air on the beach. He sliced up the original guitar riff into a new hook earworm and trimmed back the vocals only slightly staying true to Jan's verse-chorus composition. Peer Kusiv then lets it all surf atop a fresh bouncy minimal baseline sure to help move the masses this summer.

Next on remix duties is Ryan Mathiesen, an up-and-coming producer and DJ who is also, not coincidentally, the lyricist that has been working closely with Jan for the past 4 years.  For his remix, he stripped back the original percussion and opted for a minimal organic beat creating an open atmosphere, giving ample room for Jan's massive bass sound. Adding some extra rhythm with a delay on the rhodes and some repetitive guitar cuts he set the stage for the vocals which he paired down and mixed verse with chorus. The result is a laid back chiller perfect for a sunday drive or winding down after a big night and nicely compliments Blomqvist's big club mix and the groovy upbeat version from Peer Kusiv.  

All-in-all a well rounded EP from some names you will be hearing a lot more from in the near future.

Satori returns to Crosstown Rebels with his atmospheric album MAKTUB . Born to Serbian and South African parents, he has created a twelve track masterpiece that will linger in your memory long after it finishes.

When recording this album, I rented a farm in Belgium and locked myself away. I disconnected from the world and was completely alone for one month, with only my music for company. I didn't want to make 'just an album', with some cool beats and world music samples. It had to be an experience.
