Continuum nace como un recorrido emocional a través de distintas etapas que viví: la conexión, la pérdida, la espera y finalmente la transformación.

No quise pensar este proyecto como canciones separadas, sino como un flujo continuo de sensaciones que se conectan con el paso del tiempo.

El álbum comienza desde un lugar de cercanía y presencia con We Are y I Feel You. En ese punto todavía existe una conexión, algo compartido que con el tiempo empieza a volverse frágil.

Luego aparecen la espera, la memoria y el miedo a soltar en Still Waiting, Memory y Don’t Leave. Son momentos donde el apego vuelve una y otra vez, donde dejar ir duele pero quedarse también.

A medida que el viaje avanza, la música entra en un espacio más confuso y vacío con Get Lost, Can I Hug You y You’re Gone, reflejando esa sensación de pérdida y silencio que queda cuando alguien ya no está.

En la parte final todo comienza a desvanecerse en I Can’t See You y Fading, hasta llegar a un momento de aceptación y elevación en Ascend.

El cierre, After the Storm, no representa un final feliz sino un momento de calma: esa sensación de que, después del caos, algo dentro finalmente se acomoda.

Continuum no busca contar una historia lineal, sino transmitir un estado emocional continuo donde el tiempo simplemente fluye.

In the ever-expanding universe of psychill and downtempo, few artists bridge the gap between ancient spirituality and modern production as seamlessly as Mexico’s Ivan Meyer, better known as Hoova. His latest full-length offering, The Chakra Journey, released on the venerable Altar Records, is more than just an album; it is a meticulously structured sonic ceremony designed to align the listener from the root up.

True to its name, the album follows a narrative arc through the seven energy centers of the body. Hoova’s signature style, a lush blend of deep ambient, organic textures, and Chakra tonal elements, is on full display here.

To be released on the conceptual collaborative-minded, boutique label Thesis, is the new joint project by the two neo-classical and contemporary ambient acts of CEEYS, and CONSTANT PRESENCE, the new outing between Peter Broderick [Erased Tapes, Type, Efterklang], and Daniel O’Sullivan [Grumbling Fur, Guapo]. Released during Q3AMBIENTFEST, a sterling three-day event of avant-garde, experimental pop and ambient-classical taking place in Potsdam, Germany during the first weekend of April, the limited edition 10inch EP, enriched with Zen ideology, comes replete with bespoke artwork, exclusive handmade packaging, and laser-etched designs.



CONSTANT PRESENCE, the new mesmerizing project by soundsmith Peter Broderick and multidimensional songwriter Daniel O'Sullivan, has been sporadically performing across the globe since coming together in 2019. This new, recorded body of music will see their release alongside the cello-piano brothers, Sebastian and Daniel Selke aka. CEEYS, who also happen to be the founding partners and curators behind Q3AMBIENTFEST. Looking to celebrate the notions of duology, unity and harmony, the EP features two ambient tracks that are enshrined in the teachings Shunryu Suzuki, a twentieth-century Soto Zen monk who gained popularity in the Western world for his teaching of Zen Buddhism outside of Japan. This nature of dualism becomes ever more pertinent when factoring in the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the bringing together of new and old worlds, and the pairing of Potsdam and Berlin. The East-West divide is something also very admissible to the works of the Selke brother’s, who imbue various elements of their East German upbringing within their recordings and philosophical approaches. Now celebrating its fourth year, Q3AMBIENTFEST is CEEYS’ labour of love, and it was a great honor, love and respect that they can now release something together with the multitalented and accomplished minds that are Broderick and O'Sullivan.



The Thesis Project, now on its 17th release, has set about on uniting two different artists together to create limited, custom designed bodies of music. Uniquely crafted and designed by Gregory Euclide, each 10” jacket for THESIS 17 consists of laser cut-etched designs portraying brutalist architecture and atomic structures glued on top of airbrushed designs that use the homemade Black Walnut Ink that Euclide made himself from the trees on his property, then letter pressed with the THESIS logo. Each record is hand numbered in an edition of 300, and will be made available on the second day Q3AMBIENTFEST, where it is also possible to get the record hand-signed by the artists. During the second day of the festival CONSTANT PRESENCE will share the stage with CEEYS, for a unique performance that juxtaposes the notion of duality and harmony yet further, in a show that will combine professionalism with liveliness, method with lightness of touch, and efficacy with flexibility.

DR-69 : PORYA HATAMI - Kani + Remixes (incl. Darren McClure, Purl, Arovane, Tomotsugu Nakamura, Sven Laux) 

Originally released in 2013 on the Inner Ocean label, Porya Hatami’s “Kani” was a four track EP showcasing his intimate take on modern ambient music. The Iranian artist has issued a large number of albums that imbue pastoral ambient with subtle field recordings and melodies. The melodic aspect of Hatami’s work took centre stage in this release, and shone bright across the four pieces.

So now, seven years later, “Kani” is being given the reissue that it deserves, and will delight those listeners new to it, and those who are rediscovering it again. Besides the original four tracks, there are an additional five remixes by artists working in a similar orbit to Hatami, and some who have collaborated directly with him in the past.

These reworks cover plenty of ground, reimagining the source material into new shapes. Some remixes extend the foggy soundscapes and conjure delicate melodic plucks. Others add mellow pulses that infer rhythm under the washes of sound, while others take these rhythmic ideas much further.

PORYA HATAMI - Kani (night) (Arovane Remix)

Those who have been following my musings through the years surely have already read these words before. It is slightly awkward to employ my self-built platform as a tool to plug and self-promote. But self-promote I must, because how else will I inform you all, my friends, of my creations, that in part I’ve made for you to share with. Such is the case with my only second-ever collaboration, this time with a musician whom I now call a friend. James Murray and I met many years ago, virtually at first, and then in person, when I moved to London from New York. We’ve shared many musical moments [and even played together at an impromptu jamming session one late evening at his home], until one day, one thing led to another, and we’ve put out a short but sweet release [see “Living Treasure“]. And yet, Suññatā is something else entirely. Composed in complete partnership with this amazing artist, Suññatā follows a path of introspection to find a space where the self completely ceases to exist. This meditation in sound follows an arch designed to take you deeper into the nature of being until, at the end of this journey, you melt into nothingness. It may be a frightful experience at first, but it is also truly liberating and sublime. Today, I’d like to premiere the final piece on this same-titled album, which is out tomorrow, on the ever-glowing label that is Home Normal.
