She’s like pennies in my wishing well
Cast off, but close by
Always out of reach
Full of wishes devoid of speech 
I fall, I crawl 
Like a martyr without a murder
Trying to stop the things that hurt her
But it's not so easy

Into the blanket of evening?

I’m the serpent where the apple fell
She’s a statue at the gates of hell
She hears it all 
The horror never seen 
Like watching snuff films 
Without a screen
Along the wall 
I slither to her isolation 
To provide some conversation 
And help her breathe easy

Falling autumn leaves

Drift along the breeze

Past the factories
Over the debris 
Landing with a ripple
Floating down the stream

Gilded is the green
Tranquil and serene
Bathing in the sunlight 
None would intervene

That was just a scene 
Painted on the steam 
Billowing from engines 
Charging through my dreams 

All the time that we spend
Running from the world's end
We try our best to play pretend
Live within our photographs
And all the seasons that pass
Shrouded in our overcast 
We're shackled to a troubled past
 In your voice I find a clearing 

We're too busy circling the drain
Too busy causing others pain
Too lost in negatives
To see how lovely this day is

Just another link inside the chain-
