This is about as close to a "dittie" as you get in the synth VST world. I loaded up 5 different VSTs, four from Logic Pro X and 1 from Kontakt, mapped them into 5 different and sometimes overlapping parts of the keyboard and played it all in one go. In other words this is a one man band piece that can be performed live - there are no overlays just a single play. It was kind of fun doing this and I felt like one of those street musicians playing on a pedestrian street in front of an old-fashioned department store while playing. Maybe some of you will enjoy.

Hi guys, really proud today introducing a very fruitful collab with my friend Dirk Taubenheim from The Gatsbys. This song means a lot to me, as this is my very first song I partly wrote almost 15 years ago. I only finished music and arrangement last year, and considering the great welcome this song had from you all, I decided to carry on the work and write lyrics. 
Once it was finished, I offered Dirk to sing it, as I always thought he had the admirable rocky voice this song deserved. He accepted straight away to sing it, which was an honor for me considering his prolific songwriting career. " Sin ti " es una canción escrita por Pete Ham y Tom Evans del grupo de rock británico Badfinger , y lanzada por primera vez en su álbum de 1970 No Dice . La poderosa balada [1] ha sido grabada por más de 180 artistas, [2] y las versiones lanzadas como sencillos por Harry Nilsson (1971), TG Sheppard (1983) y Mariah Carey (1994) se convirtieron en éxitos de ventas internacionales. La versión de Nilsson se incluyó en las 500 mejores canciones de todos los tiempos de Rolling Stone de 2021 . [3] Paul McCartney la describió una vez como "la canción asesina de todos los tiempos". [4]

Grabada por primera vez por el grupo de rock Badfinger , la canción fue compuesta por dos de sus integrantes. Pete Ham escribió una canción originalmente titulada "If It's Love", pero le faltaba un estribillo fuerte. En el momento de escribir este artículo, la banda compartía residencia con los Mojos en 7 Park Avenue en Golders Green . Pero pensó que él se preguntaría si había hecho lo correcto más tarde, si saliera. Ella le dijo: "Ve al estudio, estoy bien..."  Él respondió: "Tu boca está sonriendo, pero tus ojos están tristes". La canción que Ham escribió esa noche se llamaba "If it's Love" y tiene el verso "Bueno, no puedo olvidar mañana, cuando pienso en todo mi dolor, te tuve allí pero luego te dejé ir, y ahora es justo". que debería hacerte saber  ... si es amor". Pero Ham no estaba contento con el coro. [6] [7]
La relación de Evans con su futura esposa Marianne influyó en su letra:
Una noche, él [Evans] fue con su amiga Karen [de Marianne] y le dijo: "Ella me dejó. La necesito de regreso. No puedo vivir sin ella". Voló a Bonn para encontrarla y escribió una canción llamada "I Can't Live". Su estribillo incluía "No puedo vivir, si vivir es sin ti, no puedo vivir, no puedo dar más". Y así, la fusión de las dos canciones, [8] [7] Ham y Evans crearon el éxito [con] el verso de Ham, "cálido, dulce, sentimental" y el coro de Evans, "intenso, dramático, desgarrador". [9]
Tanto Ham como Evans dijeron que no consideraban que la canción tuviera mucho potencial en el momento en que Badfinger la grabó, y la pista fue elegida para cerrar la primera cara de su álbum de 1970 No Dice . El crítico de Ultimate Classic Rock, Michael Gallucci, la calificó como la cuarta mejor canción de Badfinger y la calificó como una "joya tranquila" que "toca todas las notas emocionales correctas". [10] El crítico de rock clásico Rob Hughes calificó la sexta mejor canción de Badfinger, diciendo que es "menos empalagosa y más discreta [que las versiones de Nilsson y Carey], entregada con una genuina sensación de angustia".
