Save Myself - Demo

For our second sound recording session @rwcmd, we were tasked with adding a response to Odilon's recording of John Kanaka with our new TASCAM portable recorders; this is the result.

John Kanaka Sound Recording Experiment

The product of my first studio session in the AHC studio at RWCMD. The vocals are the intro to a track I am in the process of writing, in this case recorded by myself and my housemates, along with some outtakes of speech.

Clarity Amongst Chaos

Messing around in the AHC recording studio with various chords and bits on oboe, clarinet and saxophone.

Chords and Layers

A narration of my thoughts whilst attempting to fix the studio, and then a big, old brain vomit. Recorded on the slightly less professional MacBook Air microphone, I used this as an editing exercise, trying to reduce the background hum and enhance the vocals whilst keeping it natural. I also wanted to create cuts and fades in the narration that sounded seamless, so even though I am talking about different subjects, it sounds as if it is one continuous narration.

Brain Vomit

The product of an editing exercise set by Odilon. To create this, I had to cut out any unwanted dialogue, piece it together, then added reverb, a compressor, and experimented with voice alteration plug-ins to distinguish between speech and narrative.
