Xay The Dj is an On Air Talent, Mixtape Dj & Host. Born in Brooklyn New York, Xay was always surrounded by music. Both his parents collected music and would keep tunes in his ear. Sounds of (Soul, R&B and Hip Hop) as an adolescent Xay had an ear for music and would buy records take the tracks he liked the most and make a tape with various songs. Not knowing that would eventually lead him to being a dj. Xay attended and graduated from The Art Institute Of Ft. Lauderdale in (2007) with a broadcasting degree. In the process of getting his degree, Xay interned at 99jamz the number one urban radio station in South Florida. During his internship Xay had the opportunity of working around some of the top dj’s and radio personalities in the country. Talents such as ( Dj Khaled & Dj Irie) It was during that time Xay realized that the Dj & Radio lifestyle was for him. Xay invested in his self by purchasing a set of cd vinyl’s a computer and pro tools software. He then began to learn how to record himself and produce a mixtape. After getting a couple mixtapes under his belt, Xay started to let his friends listen to his tapes. Immediately they informed him that he should sell the tapes because it was good quality music on it and the way Xay produced and hosted gave it an enjoyable vibe. Xay then decided it was time to hit the streets and push his product. He started becoming very popular in Broward County and began selling mixtapes left and right and ended up selling over 30,000 units out the back of his trunk. As technology advance so did Xay, he then decided to take his game to a worldwide level. Xay started uploading his mixtapes to the internet, Datpiff.com to be exact. Which is the number one mixtape website in the world. After releasing mixtapes on a monthly basis, Xay started to have his product recognized by the website subscribers. Eventually Xay became a household name on the site. Every time he would release a tape it would immediately become “Hot This Week” and average 10,000 downloads or more plus averaging between 50 to 100,000 streams per tape. With over a hundred quality mixtapes under his belt, Xay also accumulated over a hundred thousand downloads on Datpiff.com. As he created a legacy in the mixtape game, Xay wanted more and was setting his eyes on having his own radio station. March 2017 he decided to create (The Bougie Show). The show launched January 10th, 2018 which ended up obtaining millions of views on Youtube and several social media platforms .
