Take 8 - Using a newly drawn score

Listening Notes - I now have this broken into 6 main movements
* Section 1 is chaotic but sort of mesmerizing
* I like the way it plays into the 2nd movement with the Benjolin making the transition. It's noisy but has some stability
* The transition to the more dreamy section went pretty well and I like that it is taking time and is punctuated by noises. This transition was much longer than I envisioned but it seems fine
* The Benjolin transition out was done well.
* The modulated HNW comes in like a freight train but I love it
* The Strega never seems to overwhelm in this take
* Moving from peak dream to peace is nice. Lots of psychedelic noise to take us there (thank you Strega)
* The waking up section sounds confused (in an emotional way, not a sonic way)
* The STO drone is a bit too shrill
* Fade to the end is well done

Winters Eve: Take 08

This is a new take on the Solstice track I was working on - with a new name inspired by Covid and the winter fog.

Listening notes
* I probably could have transitioned away from the sequence earlier.
* There is a lot of space before the Lyra drone comes in - maybe too much?
* The part around 2:30 is super nice
* I like the pacing after the Benjolin comes in and the sequence goes away - could build a whole ambient piece around that
* The high sounds with the sequence are really nice
* I like the intensity lift at around 8:15

This was meant to be a quiet memorial to the impending end of American Democracy on the anniversary of January 6.

Listening Notes
* I like the somber opening and the way the Benjolin is very understated. It's almost like it's playing Taps.
* The chords coming in around 3:30 sound pretty good. I thought they might not sound as good in transition.
* I'm sure I could play this many different ways but there is nothing I'm really dissatisfied with.

Another more quiet Jamuary creation. This one used some Rings tones synced with the Benjolin

Somber Evening

This is mostly Benjloin and Lyra-8, with a simple kick drum driven by the XOR output of the Benjolin and some Rings driven by the Rungler Clock and CV for pitch.

Winter Doldrums

A simple little Benjolin track to close out the month. On this one I have an external envelope triggered by Osc2 modulating a filtered version of Osc1. This is mixed with the Benjolin LP out while I play the envelope and Oac2 frequency.

This is not intended to be a completed piece but an experiment in creating a mood I can build upon. This is all Benjolin with some processing with the Hologram Microcosm.

Altered State

More FM craziness with the Benjolin, Grone and HNW. This one is more ambient than yesterdays, but maybe more claustrophobic in general.

Oppressive

An experiment in repetition. I used a simple, repeating pattern from the Grone and processed that through the built-in Clouds (modulated with varying intensities of CV from a Psychedelic Voltage Processor) and into bliss-land with the Hologram Microcosm. All of this got a bit of delay and reverb through the Strymon Magneto.

Awakening

An experiment in harsh noise and random sequences. The bed of noise was laid down with:

- Lyra-8
- Gen Thalz Cacophonix
- Gen Thalz HNW

And the trippy sequences came from a highly randomized sequence from the SOMA RoAT. I made liberal use of reverb and delay along with Microcosm Hologram trippiness to complete the track.

All of that felt better than expected all together.

Phaser with Pitch Shift

This was a track I used to learn how to best pair the Expert Sleepers Beatrix with the Moog Labyrinth. I used the EG of the Moog to modulate the frequency of the phaser and it sounds so good.
