the first sentence is a crazy over exaggeration filler sentence, but the rest is true story that started from a 2 am text from my at-the-time new dj homies: “are you free? come to rooney’s we are all mixing”. and thus i left the KO lounge techno party and went to rooney’s unknowing that we’d end up going to the mountain and watching the sunrise just to go back and mix until even after patrick left for work. besides the degeneracy, its nights like these that bring me soo much joy. i had to write about it

it’s the inevitable end of a glorious freedom or the seemingly never ending cycle of pain we must suffer, time will always pass— whether we like it or not. i wrote this in 2020, when it was truly beyond my imagination to see myself escape my mind. this song was written to help me cope with living that reality. and in recent years i sing the song with fondness, thinking about how time has certainly passed and feeling the colors reappearing in my life like i had promised myself. but when recording this a week ago, i felt a sadness of leaving behind the freedom of a summer. perhaps my last full summer. 

time passing can be what it is. it doesn’t have to be good or bad. i try to remind myself that the most important step a person can take is always the next step
