"Redemption Song", composée en 1977 par Bob Marley, est la dernière chanson de son dernier album, "Uprising", sorti en 1980. Il y parle d'esclavage et de combat pour la liberté physique et mentale et cite Marcus Garvey, militant noir mort en 1940.
C'est la mélodie de ce morceau et son interprétation émouvante par Bob Marley, qui m'ont donné envie, après tant d'autres, de le reprendre.

This is a song I wrote last week, decided I would try and record it, but more so, I tried different techniques in the recording process.  Certainly not perfect, the verses need work, the tempo is too slow and I have to tighten up the vocals a lot.  In other words, this is just a demo, a huge work in progress and I know I can do a whole lot better!

And So It Begins

My first recording in a very long time. I took a bit of a hiatus, life happened to get in the way.  This is rough demo, I had written the lyrics about 6 months ago, had them kicking around on my desk and just took them in the studio and put music to them.  It wasn't a "one take" but darned close!  The guitar of choice was a Gibson reissue2011 Gibson Woody Guthrie

Dehors, il pleuvait à torrent et c'était magnifique. C'était un dimanche après-midi, début juillet. Seul à l'appart, j'écoutais une super émission à la radio en préparant à manger tranquillou pi en buvant un whisky et une bière (mais non, pas en même temps).
Bref, j'étais super cool et je me suis dit bon diasse, faudra pas oublier ce moment précis.
Ma vieille guitare noire piaffait sur le mur, ma fiancée venait de m'envoyer un joli message de Lyon, il était 19 h 47.

Poetry and bad news (Fil Ze Loom original)

Face A : reprise d'un titre de David Bowie écrit en 1971 pour l'album Hunky Dory. Je me suis bien éloigné de l'original, qui est acoustique.
Face B : reprise d'un autre titre acoustique, écrit en 1962 par Bob Dylan pour l'album "The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan". Les paroles, modifiées ultérieurement, sont celles de cette version.
