Can you put yourself into a place , knowing what will take place, or know the future? Can you travel with your own thoughts, somewhere into the future?



The Ideal State of Mind:
An ideal state of mind fluctuates between thinking and engaged— whatever a current situation demands of you. There isn’t a formula that dictates when you should be in one state and when you should be in the other, but much like dancing, you need to find a rhythm and delicately move as the situation (or music) requires.

Original writer was: Ralph Sefan Kotkov (not from the band Odyssey)

This song offered me some closure, when I play this, but with a reinterpretation of the words not one of a failing love relationship, but that from someone you knew and loved on their death bed.

I sing this for my father and brings me closer to him for just a few brief minutes;
Whilst in his final few months within the charitable care of a hospice. 
I didn't see my father whilst in hospice. The words in this song gave me a  new meaning of the terms looking for a way out, and the love he shared throughout his life, and possibly knowing he was leaving us all behind.

“Don't kiss me again 'cause I'm dying, to keep you from running away”

Information on the original writer;
Ralph Kotkov, has written songs which have been featured on The Captain Kangaroo Show. He also collaborated on songs which have been recorded by such artists as, Odyssey, Tony Orlando and Dawn, and Frances Black. He was keyboard player for the band Chrysalis in the late 1960’s; he performed and recorded with them on their album “Definition”which was reissued on CD. 
He has performed in and around NYC and continues to do so.
