Now I'm grown, the stakes have flown, from candies to grander visions,
Choices weigh like gourmet buffets, life's a chef with tough decisions.
Should I splurge, or should I purge, my cravings for instant pleasure?
With every bite, might lose or might gain, a treasure beyond measure.

Then comes a day, in a soft dismay, I grab that marshmallow,
Breaking fast, the die is cast, "It's fine," I shrug, quite mellow.
As shadows stretch and twilight nears, I ponder paths I've chosen,
With sticky chin, a knowing grin, life's not just black and white, it's golden.

Now, I didn’t live this one myself, but I sure felt it when I first heard the story. It’s about a boy and his dog, and the kind of bond you can’t put into words without gettin’ a little misty. It starts with a picture, one of those snapshots where you don’t know just how much it’s gonna mean until years later.

This ain’t just a song about a pet. It’s about time. About growin’ up together. About muddy paws and midnight talks and quiet moments near the end when love says, “You can go,” but the heart whispers, “Please stay.” It’s about those photos, the first and the last, and all the life that happened in between.
