In this first episode we will hear Katja from Belarus talking about the evil system president Lukaschenka built after the fall oft he soviet union. She will explain how it still works and why it is so hard to take action against it. Katja is a member of viasna, one oft he biggest NGOs in Belarus. They defend human rights and offer help to political prisoners and other people who are effected by political opression and their families. In February 2021 Viasnas headquarter in Minsk was raided as well as many other regional offices, which made it even harder for them to operate. A lot of activists were imprisoned, Katja herself was interviewed and decided to leave the country.
