Title: Embracing Emptiness!

Scripture: Luke 18:1-8; John 3:30
Luke 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
Luke 18:2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
Luke 18:3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
Luke 18:4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
Luke 18:5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
Luke 18:6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
Luke 18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

Sermon Points:
-	Once we have decided to seek only God’s will and honor in our prayer life, we will not be so discouraged by delay!
01.	We must decide who is in control of our lives, ourselves or Jesus Christ.
-	James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
-	James 4:5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
-	James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
-	James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
-	James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
-	James 4:9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
-	James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
02.	Fasting is a choice to break the allure or pull the world has on us. It’s putting our flesh and all the world trappings under submission.
-	If there is darkness in our life it is not because God has turned away from us it is because we have turned away from him
-	1 John 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
03.	There is a reason why prayer and fasting is so hard to make a habit in our lives
-	John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
-	John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
-	John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
-	John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
-	We tend to think of fasting as a way to get what we are after. But fasting has a way of exposing what our desires should be.
-	God told Noah to build while everyone else was focused on Getting married, and laughing, and drinking and eating, just having a good time while they mocked the man of God.
-	Fasting is not happy hour.  Fasting is a time you embrace emptiness!

Title: Sitting in the Right Place but Leaning in the Wrong Direction

Scripture: Acts 20:7-12
Acts 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
Acts 20:8 And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.
Acts 20:9 And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.
Acts 20:10 And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.
Acts 20:11 When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.
Acts 20:12 And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.

Sermon Points:
I want to show you 4 different types of church members that we find in this text:
01.	An attending member! but that's just the beginning, we need to be a working member!
02.	Vs.9 - An apathetic member! Could it be that Eutychus' fall out of the window tells us that maybe he wasn't interested in what was going on?
03.	An awakened member! I don't think Eutychus went back to sleep after Paul revived him! Maybe some of us here tonight need a personal revival!
04.	Vs.9- Eutychus represents the last kind of church member I see here in this text, see Eutychus was sitting in the right place, but leaning in the wrong direction!
05.	Eutychus' positioning was everything! the window was the dividing line, it separated that which was within from that which was without! Are you sitting on the brink today? You're not all the way in but you're not all the way out?
06.	Vs.9- The bible says "he sunk down in sleep" this leads me to believe it didn't happen suddenly, it was gradual! The first few nods were not deep sleep but the last one was!
07.	Eutychus' fall may have even had an effect on someone else!

John 21:1 After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself.
John 21:2 There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.
John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.
John 21:4 But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.
John 21:5 Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.
John 21:6 And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.

Sermon Points:
-	Sometimes we as believers struggle with believing.
01.	Have you ever gone through anything that makes you wonder if serving Jesus works?
02.	Once Jesus makes our business His business, we’ll never be happy going back to ours.
03.	In your confusion, where are you leading people that you love?
-	If the enemy can get you, then he can get a lot of people you have influence over.
04.	But what do you do when something you know works doesn’t?
-	God always Shuts doors in our lives before we will see which one to go in. 
05.	Peter didn’t realize Jesus had shut that door.
-	Peter, like us all, had to figure out that Jesus doesn’t open doors, He is The Door! 
-	Jesus is not a way He is The Way!

-	God never stops shining. He is the only consistent thing in our lives! We just need to be sure we are turned towards him!
03.	There is a reason why prayer and fasting is so hard to make a habit in our lives.
-	John 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
-	John 1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
-	John 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
-	John 1:9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
-	We tend to think of fasting as a way to get what we are after. But fasting has a way of exposing what our desires should be.
-	God told Noah to build while everyone else was focused on marriage, laughing. and drinking and eating. Just having a good time while they mocked the Man Of God.
-	If it takes a flood to get your attention, it’s too Late!
-	Fasting is not happy hour. fasting is the time you embrace emptiness.
-	We are bought with price, to live a life, holy into Jesus Christ, not to listen and soak up what the world has to offer.

Joshua 5:13 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?
Joshua 5:14 And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant?
Joshua 5:15 And the captain of the LORD'S host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.

Sermon Points:
-	Proverbs 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.
-	God hides his blessings in problems. God then watches you and I deal with those problems.  God observes.
-	I believe trouble is what God wraps his blessings in, as a gift to his children. Remember, problems are for growing not for solving.
-	Appreciation is impossible without a problem preceding it!
-	Go ahead and look for a husband or wife without a problem and you’ll find one you’ll never appreciate.
-	Let’s quit griping about our problems and start praising God for our problems because shrouded in that problem there is a blessing that will probably turn your life around.
-	Most of the Time we find Jesus in the storms of life not the sunshine.  
01.	 Two basic things have to occur for you to find God’s blessings. 
	# 1 Start! 
	# 2 Don’t quit. 
-	This is a formula for success. The two hardest things you’ll ever do, are just start and finish.
02.	Settle it today, before you start anything, a day, a church, a job, a marriage, settle the fact That Jesus loves you and has a plan for your life! 
-	Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
03.	Don’t Quit and you’ll make it and enjoy blessing along the way and someday hear the greatest 7 words ever spoken, “WELL DONE THOU GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT!”

Scripture: Exodus 8:20-23
Exodus 8:20 And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; lo, he cometh forth to the water; and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
Exodus 8:21 Else, if thou wilt not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies upon thee, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thy houses: and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are.
Exodus 8:22 And I will sever in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end thou mayest know that I am the LORD in the midst of the earth.
Exodus 8:23 And I will put a division between my people and thy people: to morrow shall this sign be.

Sermon Points:
01.	God’s desire has not changed today! Everything He has provided for the believers is so that they may serve Him.
02.	Today people have the wrong Idea about Christianity! It’s not all about personal blessing and prosperity brought on by your “praise and worship,” it’s about serving God work your life!
03.	Vs.22-23 - for those that don’t know, Egypt is a picture of sin and the world, notice how God says, “He will put a division between my people and the people” because to effectively serve God there had to be some separation from sin and the world!
04.	Sadly, many have taken what God has given them to serve Him and used those blessings for themselves!
05.	God deserves to be served and if you love Him like you should then serving Him will not be grievous at All!

SCRIPTURE: Joshua 1:1-3
Joshua 1:1 Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,
Joshua 1:2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
Joshua 1:3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

SERMON POINTS:
01.	Average things out. 
-	Joshua 1:2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
-	Why? Because God averaged Moses’ life out and saw the good with the bad, and chose to remember the good, the faithful and trusting side of Moses. Unlike most of us who choose to recall the bad in someone.
02.	Abraham: why did God call Abraham a friend? 
-	James 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
-	We tend to look at folks who have done us wrong and remember those things and tend to forget the good things. With No averaging their life out they remain an enemy.

05.	God looked at every life and averaged them out. 
-	Hebrews 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
-	But we are not God and we can’t forgive sin, but we can average our enemies lives out and try to forget the bad.
-	God took Moses low days, high days, good days, bad days, and the average was “he was my servant.”
-	Before you leave your spouse, or your church, or your job, taking an average. People tend to throw away all the good over one thing.

Luke 5:2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.
Luke 5:3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.
Luke 5:4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
Luke 5:5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
Luke 5:6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.
Luke 5:7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.
Luke 5:8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.
Luke 5:9 For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:
Luke 5:10 And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.

Sermon Points:
-	Often, we are thinking too much about the presentation of the gospel and forgetting about the person we are talking to. 
01.	Jesus was concerned with what they were concerned with.
-	Jesus did not come to them and tell them to take their mind off of worthless things and think on eternal. But rather discussed the problem and dealt with it and told them to cast their nets a little further.
-	Then Jesus said, “Follow me and I’ll make you fishers of men.” He dealt with their personal concerns before dealing with their souls!
02.	Jesus was concerned about what they were doing.
-	Christ never acted too important or cold hearted to be concerned about what others were interested in.
03.	He was concerned about them not understanding salvation.
04.	Jesus was concerned with people’s needs and hurts.
05.	Jesus was both truthful and concerned about their sinfulness.
-	Religion condemned her, Jesus saved her.
06.	Jesus was concerned with folks’ hunger.
-	Remember a lost person is more concerned about the flesh than the spirit. 
-	1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
07.	Jesus was concerned about their desperation.
08.	He was concerned with the children.
09.	Jesus was concerned about their individual personalities.
-	Let’s not be so caught up in our own world, that we fail to recognize those lost, and hurting, and confused folks all around us.

Title: FACING ADVERSITY!

Scripture: Psalms 94:12-14
Psalms 94:12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law;
Psalms 94:13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.
Psalms 94:14 For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.

Sermon Points:
-	Psalms 94:13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.
-	1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
-	Matthew 25:23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
-	There is adversity coming our way. Hurt feelings, car, wreck, death, cancer, wayward kids, financial adversity, loss of job, spouse leaving, family drama, health; whatever it is it’s coming our way and God wants us to trust Him through it.
-	The three Hebrew children in the Bible, faced adversity when the king said, “You will worship the image, or you will be thrown into a fiery furnace.”  They said, “We will only worship Jesus Christ.”
-	It turned out Jesus was waiting for them in their adversity.
-	People who face adversity and trust Christ and serve him through the tough times do so because they believe He is worth it!
-	We will never get to know Jesus like we should know Him, until We know him through adversity. 
-	Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
-	Proverbs 17:17 A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
-	Proverbs 24:10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.
01.	Take a challenge and conquer it. 
-	Isaiah 53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
02.	Stop complaining and look for someone to show kindness to.
-	2 Samuel 9:1 And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?

Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

SERMON POINTS:
01.	Jesus gave you a heart that loves. 
-	Ezekiel 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
-	1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
02.	It’s impossible not to fill your heart with something. 
-	Proverbs 14:14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.
03.	The Heart will not let go of what it loves until another love replaces it. 
-	Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
-	We put the things of the World in our hearts, through TV, Internet, friends, and we wonder why we don’t Love what God loves. We quit church or our ministry and blame our Pastor or our Church. That’s a Facade! Truth is, you gave your heart to the world.
-	Our Hearts have not the love of our Father because we gave it to the World. Through our music, friends, TV, Internet. 
-	John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
-	John 16:14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
-	The best way to overcome the ungodly things we continue to do is to replace those things with good. 
-	Romans 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
-	1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
-	We must put pure things into our heart. 
-	Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
-	Philippians 4:9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
-	We must fill our Heart with Word of God. 
-	Psalms 19:8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
-	Put your hope in Jesus.

TITLE: CONVENIENCE OR COMMITMENT

SCRIPTURE: II Timothy 3:1-7
II Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
II Timothy 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
II Timothy 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
II Timothy 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
II Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
II Timothy 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
II Timothy 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

SERMON POINTS:
01.	Vs.5- So not only is Paul describing behaviors that we now see in just about everyone, but this verse implies that some of these people will be calling themselves Christians!
-	Joshua 24:13 And I have given you a land for which ye did not labour, and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them; of the vineyards and oliveyards which ye planted not do ye eat.
-	Joshua 24:14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.
02.	This is what God is looking for right here, a people that will love him in truth and sincerity!
03.	Today people want a convenient Jesus, not a commitment to Jesus!
04.	If you're not serving and/or worshipping in truth and sincerity, then you have an empty religion, and the root cause of empty religion is misplaced affection!
05.	If you are serving the Lord in truth and sincerity, then you won't be so easily led astray by your own fleshly lusts!

Title: LIVING IN REALITY!

Scripture: I Corinthians 2:14
I Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Sermon Points:
-	People who accept that God has planned to put us through various tests, trials and tribulations which include pain and disappointment, are people who have figured out how-to live-in reality. 
-	We walk through the Valley, we don’t stay there. To stay there is not to trust God and that is a sin and will lead to spiritual death.
-	Here are some realities we must cling to each day of our life.
01.	The Reality that Jesus loves You. 
-	One of the greatest disciples of Christ was John who wrote the book of Revelation and the book of John. John described himself not as the author of Revelation or the gospel of John but as. “The Disciple whom Jesus loved.”
-	John 13:23 Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.
-	John 21:7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.
-	John 19:26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!
02.	Another Reality we must cling to is the reality that Jesus is with us all the time. 
-	Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
-	God sees the worst of us and still thinks the best of us!
03.	Another reality we must cling to is that God uses Valley's and adverse circumstances to keep us humble and dependent on Him. 
-	God created the World out of nothing and as long as we are nothing, He can make something out of us.
-	Humility makes prayer a necessity to survive instead of something you’re afraid to neglect.
04.	A good reality to cling to is to stop looking down at the faults of others and work on yours. 
-	Matthew 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
-	We also get very frustrated at God because we can’t control Him. Why? Because we want God as our very own butler and to keep Him doing what we think He ought to be doing.
-	God says, “You’re not here to change me, I’m here to change you.”
05.	Another reality to remind yourself of daily is the fact that we need God for everything. 
-	2 Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
06.	Another reality is that the Bible is the source of all Truth. 
-	Psalms 33:4 For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.
07.	The reality that the ability to forgive others is your greatest ability. 
-	Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Title: WHY SHOULD SOMEBODY WANT TO COME TO OUR CHURCH?

Scripture: Revelation 5:11-12; Acts 4:18-23
Revelation 5:11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
Revelation 5:12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
Acts 4:18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
Acts 4:19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
Acts 4:20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
Acts 4:21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.
Acts 4:22 For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed.
Acts 4:23 And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.

Sermon Points:
01.	What was it about that Church that made them want to go back again? 
02.	Us being friendly to people who come.
03.	Not only friendly people, but the Right Preaching and Teaching Will bring them back.
04.	When you Offer them Forgiveness for their past they will come back.
-	And if there is one place, they should be able to come and get relief from the mistakes they made in life, it should be at our church!
-	Acts 27:44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.
-	But they can be born again here at our church. And when a baby gets born, it doesn’t have a past, it only has a future! God wipes away their sin and they get a brand-new beginning.
-	2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
-	Remember this, my dear church member. You are not here because you’re worthy. You and I are here because He is worthy. So, everybody is welcome and worthy to walk through those doors, why? Because we have a God named Jesus Christ, who is worthy!

Title: SOME CHARACTERISTICS OF A GOOD FATHER

Scripture: John 5:19; 1 Peter 5:7
John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Sermon Points:
01.	He should be a Guardian. 
-	Psalm 12:7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
-	Psalm 121:5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
-	Psalm 121:6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
-	Psalm 121:7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
02.	A Good Daddy is the Tip of the Spear.
-	Psalm 61:2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
-	It means trouble hits Dad first before it hits anybody else.
-	Most of us take our fathers for granted.
-	A good man is recognized for his goodness after he is gone.
-	Sometimes the way you protect your family is by your silence. You deal with it and keep your mouth shut. “Suffer in silence.”
-	Exodus 14:13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
-	Exodus 14:14 The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
-	Don’t Step in and pick him up all the time. Let him deal with trouble. Let him deal with the bully.
03.	A father should be a supplier and a giver.
-	Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
-	Job 39:21 He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men.
-	“He Paws in the Valley”
-	It should be in a Man’s DNA to be a provider, a giver, The Tip of the Spear! Man was made in the likeness of God. Jehovah Jireh = God will provide. According to Jesus Christ, us Fathers need to be good Providers.
04.	A Good Father realizes that it’s not about Him.
-	Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
-	The enemy is not fighting you over you. He’s fighting you over your children. He wants to keep them from serving our Saviour. Everything with the enemy is about hurting Jesus!
-	As your kids and wife and family turn it over to you, you must turn it over to the Lord.
-	Psalm 55:2 Attend unto me, and hear me: I mourn in my complaint, and make a noise;
-	1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
-	The Bible says, “Men ought to pray without ceasing.” You know why? Because you’ll have problems coming at you without ceasing…

TITLE: BETTER TO LIVE THAN TO JUST SURVIVE

SCRIPTURE: Genesis 1:1-3; Isaiah 12:3
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Genesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Isaiah 12:3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

SERMON POINTS:
01.	Spirit and Water are connected. 
-	1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
-	The water saying, “you got to have me” and the Holy Spirit saying, “You got to have me too.”  
-	Water is saying, “You’re made up of me” and the Holy Spirit is saying, “By me all things consist.”  
-	Isaiah 44:3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
02.	No wonder our enemy walks through dry places.
-	Matthew 12:43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
03.	Joy is the bucket you dip with. 
-	Isaiah 12:3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. 
-	John 7:37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
-	Possession and Profession are two different things. A lot of people Profess Him, but few people Possess Him. 
-	Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
-	I would run over the top of my grandmother to try and get to Jesus. because I need this water to survive!
-	John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
-	People without joy, without this water, are not living, they are surviving.
04.	Only Jesus has What you need! 
-	John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
05.	Jesus is asking “Do you identify Me with Water? “Do you see me as the quencher of your thirst?
-	John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
-	Many come to Church, but few come to Him. 
-	Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
