I wrote and produced this simple radio ad back in the 70s.  I still like it.  All the features and benefits are there while you're being entertained.
So many ads now seem totally indulgent - often entertaining without a single suggestion as to why you should switch or buy.

Canberra TV Rentals Radio Commercial 'Blackout'

In 1977 I commissioned Little River Band to write the song 'Witchery' wish was number on on the charts for 33 weeks.  (I had previously worked with Beeb Birtles and Daryl Cotton.)  The song was remastered again by the band in 2010.
My client didn't seem all that impressed.  The first ad is about the only time we associated the brand with the song.
Still, I find the two dialogue commercials that follow really amusing.
