ComeOn is a song inspired by a love story. A couple that resists the passage of time without succumbing to modernity, proving that every love story is born from a story of friendship. A tribute to the couple Kapeta (our bassman) and Biba, his wife.

Some questionable facts regarding STRANGELOVE’S BRAIN’s release are related in quite a verbose and unreliable way tinged with judgemental interpretation and interspersed with pseudointellectual preconceptions here:   https://soundcloud.com/sonic-textures/shellf-life-paraphernalia-and-parerga-2025 (German original, as far as we can discern). According to that ‚account‘, the recording of STRANGELOVE’S BRAIN was found on a self-burnt disc (ha, that ancient Nero joke!) in a forgotten chest. The poem used in this recording is the only item that can be traced to an author (jo richter) who was kind enough to allow us to reprint here. Obviously, the references to the war-inflicted tragedies of Hiroshima and Nagasaki make it of  special importance at this moment in history, not only because of current tensions, but also because those two catastrophies happened about 80 years ago in August 1945. We therefore decided to release the two versions known thus far as a vinyl single to the general public, accompanied by an image attributed to the same author as the poem.

Collaborating can be a lot of fun!  This is the third released collaboration with Mark Spruce (Original Spruce). 

It was an interesting process. Mark came up with the oven glove line, I sent him a few abandoned lyrics I had from a song before about bulbs in the dirt, and he then developed them into the full lyric about a relationship and moving on and added the melody. He then sent me the main guitar track and his excellent double tracked lead vocals. I then migrated those into GarageBand and then built up the full backing instrumental and added the backing vocals. A bit technical for me but we got there! He then made the beautiful video!

I've been trying my hand at writing songs after several year break away from music. I'm no longer interested in creating something polished, or even finished. I just want to express, create and share. Maybe in time I'll revisit some of these ideas, but for now they stand a little more than a diary entry, and a way to overcome the way I feel about my voice.

For many years I concentrated on painting, but meanwhile I come back to music more and more. I always like to connect the different mediums, also writing lyrics. I play several instruments with main instrument classical guitar. I'm no singer, but sometimes I like to send a message.
