I wrote this in a day after dancing my arse of to Guernsey Based Gnawa band Yas!!!! Build from a Choppy chord sound I made on Serum and my poem 'Fearless'. A quietly growing dance track at our gigs. Thanks to Eloise Fabbri for the Joy.

The New Album from Guernsey based electronic artist, producer and premier Garry Minto AKA Its Own Animal. The album is a call to stand up against the darkness and walk into the light. 
Huge ambient, groove driven ballads are interspaced with House tracks, some leaning towards rave, latin and reggae grooves, delicate guitar playing and Garry Minto's soulful singing voice and warm spoken word passages. This is all coloured with the amazing vocal genius of Ms Eloise Fabbri and covers themes from the nature of sentience through Garry's loss of fear, to joyous dance pop of the pane to inclusion and love that is the duet Persuasion. It all begins with 'The Boy Who Lied' a drum heavy techno reflection on growing up in a damaged place, through the huge vocal power and loping groove o 'Slowly' and ends with the gentle sweetness of the Big House 'Fearless'. Stretchy yourself out indeed.

Guernsey based multi instrumentalist, vocalist, producer and sound - scaper Garry Minto AKA Its Own Animal makes dubbed up, electronic dance music, house, rave, alternative electronica and spaced out songs alone and in collaboration with others. Its Own Animal recently released their new album Strike a Spark Against the Dark on Bandcamp and are due to release it to Spotify, Deezer and the other streaming services on Jan 21st 2024. 
It's Own Animal have released other albums, but they feel that this latest release is the best yet and most represents their intent. Its full on 12 track album containing at least 5 singles including the already released Modular - a rave track about a special place in Guernsey Called Le Guet.
The songs on the album range from complex layered techno / tribal grooves with huge synths and warm spoken word stories and poems, to out and out rave and house , like Number Station, Modular, Shadows and fearless, to the reggae feel of Gather and massive spacey songs like Freaks! and Slowly. The album also has a bright and bouncy Afro Beat influence dance - pop  tune called Persuasion. 
Its Own Animal performs at gigs and festivals, surrounded by electronics and with his guitar round his neck. Last summer, they headlined Sark fest to hundreds of insanely jumping humans fro 17 to 70 odd. They best gig ever.
Garry started off in the seminal cult punk Funk outfit Heads On Sticks. before working with live house acts HOSS and Love Life. He took 15 years off music being a teacher and a dad and returned to music 8 years ago as Its Own Animal.
They admit to being appalling at self promotion. Anyone wants to promote this music will be welcomed
