This mixtape is a tribute to one of my favourite video game composers of all time, Masafumi Takada (born 1970), former Grasshopper Manufacture composer and founder of Sound Prestige Records. He is best known for his unique soundtracks for Grasshopper Manufacture games including "Flower, Sun and Rain", "killer7" and "No More Heroes". He also produced the soundtracks for Spike Chunsoft's "Danganronpa" franchise (i.e. three video games and one animated series) as well as music for Nintendo games including "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" and "Kid Icarus: Uprising". His music often experiments with elements from many music genres (e.g. pop, rock, jazz, electronic, hip-hop, etc.) thus making his style widely varied.

This tribute mixtape features songs taken from seven different soundtracks (all of which Masafumi Takada worked on) and mixes them all down to one seamless, exhilarating seven-minute soundscape. This was mainly produced to celebrate the recent Japanese release of "Absolute Despair Girls: Danganronpa Another Episode" for the PlayStation Vita.

I really like the Eterna City theme. In fact, I love Sinnoh Music. I hope we go the so called Sinnoh Remakes, principally after what they did in ORAS and Sun and Moon. I mean, I liked the ORAS OST a lot, they really did a good job in the musics! And Sun and Moon have awesome graphics and musics!

Eu realmente gosto da música de Eterna City. Na verdade eu gosto de praticamente todas as músicas de Sinnoh! Eu espero que tenhamos os tão esperados Remakes de Sinnoh, principalmente depois do que fizeram em ORAS e Sun e Moon! Quer dizer, eles fizeram um ótimo trabalho na remasterização das músicas de ORAS e os gráficos e músicas de Sun e Moon são ótimos!

Eterna City

2BA Mixtape is a collection of 15 edits and remixes, created to bridge the gap between nerds and normies at live events. 

Dj CUTMAN began at late night parties at gaming conventions, in the hallways and panel rooms we called "Secret Raves." All manners of chiptune, video game and dance music were welcome. As the years passed and my following grew, I started touring. I took shows in new cities. I got to perform in all manner of places, from dive bars to museums, but not all my experiences were positive. 

I struggled in larger venues where my chiptune and game music collection wouldn't connect with a mainstream audience. My library was a smash hit at conventions and nerd-culture events, why weren't these folks feeling it? 

What worked at a convention rave might not fly at a posh hotel in NYC or a swanky casino in Atlantic City. I was shook, but not scared off. I researched new styles of music, and fell in love with the production sound of the late 90s and early 2000s. 

2.B.A. Mixtape is an album of songs that have grown with me over the years. Some of them may be a little silly, or completely ridiculous. They, like me, have survived and thrived through this crazy musical odyssey. And every single one GOES OFF at the right party 🔥🚀😁
