Roll It Down

This was song was inspired by local events that have greatly impacted our community. 

During the formation of the band Iris Lane, we were hit twice by devastating flooding in the Kingwood/Lake Houston area, where we all live and rehearse. 

The home and rehearsal studio of Iris Lane bassist, Shane Green, was completely flooded on two occasions in less than a year. Each time, his home had to be completely gutted and rebuilt. Thousands of people in our community were displaced and had to relocate or rebuild their homes, businesses and lives. 

This lyrics of this song were inspired by these difficult times and will constantly serve as a reminder of the challenges our community was able to overcome.

Did we actually write a song about coming back from the dead as a ghost and haunting someone? 

Yes. Yes we did. 

Our therapist recommended against it, but we didn't listen.

Iris Lane is an indie alternative rock trio from Houston Texas. The band draws heavily on influences such as Death Cab For Cutie, The Smashing Pumpkins, Silversun Pickups, Tom Petty, and Gin Blossoms. When they aren’t violating their instruments and recording hook filled jams to pleasure your ears, they can be found drinking craft beer or sleeping.
