(2020 reflective description) This project (and particularly another I was involved in during this period) was an early indication of the folly of working on student projects in both film and video game contexts - these creative types are still learning team management skills and balancing their own tasks while often having little regard for music development and lacking the technical terminology to communicate musical ideas with composers. However I must admit I had a lot of fun creating this particular track, the fast paced percussion is perhaps a little too much at time, and the diminished chords at the end are very predictable, but it impressed my clients at least.

Day Theme

A composition project recently completed for uni, blends the classical symphonic world with more groove based orchestral percussion and some electronic soundscapes

(2020 reflective description) A landmark composition for my own personal development looking back - this was the first larger scale work written for big forces and making full use of the EastWest sound library. My inexperience at both is obvious but it has its moments, the incorporation of backdrops, atmosphere and electronic elements are also a feature that I would go on to explore and continue to do so. 
Overall I look back now and regret the very thick textures and an attitude of giving only single lines to different instruments - with little regard for instrument groupings or effective doublings. The use of timpani and pitched percussion is also quite suspect at times.

Dodgy recording on a dodgy keyboard, not exactly Rubinstein but far from my worst, gorgeous piece with a very noble melody and some robust modulations, challenging to not only highlight the melody amongst the dense harmonic texture but also to avoid an excessively percussive action at times, my favourite classical piece I have learned in my 11 years of playing...
