An ex-boyfriend of my sister used to call her "La Flaquita de Oro": The skinny girl of gold. He ended up being a jealous, clingy, whiny man. Upon the breakup, I was inspired to write a goofy song from his perspective titled after his favorite pet name for her. It was mixed and engineered by my friend Dominic Garcia at his studio in Sacramento, CA, Dominic sang two parts of a four part harmony--with me and me forming the other two parts--and also added authentic Mexican percussion and bass. I played Spanish guitar for the first time in a recording. Such fun.
