The Adagio in G minor attributed to Tomaso Albinoni was supposedly written by Remo Giazotto but the discovery of a fragment of Albinoni's Triosonata in G minor makes it seem more probable that it actually was written by Albinoni around 1708.

This adaptation of the original fragment uses human voices as main instrument and was performed on Anvil Studio, VirtualMidiSynth and Plogue sforzando with the sampled Voices of the University of Iowa.

T. Albinoni Adagio in G minor

An adaption to Rock band of Camille Saint-Saens' Danse macabre.

This piece started as a song for voice and piano in 1872 based on a old French superstition written down as poem by Henry Cazalis. To put it mildly it flopped in that version. This is based on the third version written by Saens, which never made it to very popular. Alternate versions by other composers, including Franz Liszt, never made it to the top of the charts either.

This piece (Op. 27), also known as "Moonshine Sonata" was dedicated to Beethoven's pupil  Giulietta Guicciardi in 1802. It was a piano favorite from the first day it became public.

Here the Adagio sostenuto that I have adapted to  harp and string trio to give the melancholy of the piece more body.

It is performed on Fluid Synthesizer using Anvil studio as sequencer both with the Timbres of Heaven voice font.

I have always wondered whether Saxophones would by more widely used were it not because of the fight of the music establishment with Adolphe Sax.

 This is part of a collection I started under the title "Adolphe Sax's revenge", more parts will follow as time permits.

 All parts have been performed on Midi Keyboard, Musescore 2 as sequencer driving VirtualMidiSynth on a Windows (TM) platform using the Timbres of Heaven sound font.

Grieg's Peer Gynt is an all time favorite and probably the most famous piece of music to ever come out of Norway.

It was adapted to be played by a saxophone quartet. The current rendition was performed with a fluid synthesizer using Musescore 2 as sequencer. Both were using the Timbres of Heaven soundfont.

This Waltz by Juventino Rosas was attributed for a long time to Strauss, until a musicologist discovered that there was no Strauss manuscript but one by Rosas dated 1888

This rendition by saxophone quintet (synthesized) contains Vals#1 and Vals#2(5:57). It was performed with a midi keyboard and fluid synthesizer 
using Musescore 2 as sequencer for the additional voices.

Adaptation and variation of Hungarian dance #5 by J. Brahms

It all started with a Blues walking bass and ended in three movements. The first consists of the harmonic variations, the second is mainly to let the listener know where it is all coming from and the third is a canon with some of the variations.

The word moriña is difficult to translate as it means many things and the easy way out is to call it homesickness... but that does not explain most of it. This is a result of my experimenting with the double harmonic scale, also known as the Byzantine or Oriental scale. While using the same note the occidental scales use, the separation of notes and half notes is different, making it sound exotic to those accustomed to our notation system.

Music has been dormant with me for decades. Somehow I needed a respite after the familiar opposition of accepting a place in the conservatory (I tried out as organist and as percussionist and got accepted as percussionist). It was not until I needed music for one of my other artistic skills, film making, that it came back in force. Since then I have decided to also adapt classical music... among others because it reduces the amount of fights about authorship I have with the BMI, BMG and GEMA. If some of their nice kids have a problem with the music I can always wipe a centuries old sheet music under their noses (and yes, that happened with my interpretation of Albinoni's Adagio).
