The penultimate Monday of 2025 means that it is time for another Rethink Remake Remix of an Interbay track from the 17 months that I posted tracks (each with its own music video) over on Facebook, before I ever started posting here on SoundCloud.  

Sometimes these RRR tracks come with radical reinterpretations of the track I'd originally come up with, either because I had a better idea, better instrumentation, or even just improved basic skills.  Other times, all I need to do is add a couple of things to make it compliant with the expectations and restrictions I've placed on the tracks that I post here on SoundCloud.    

And there are times when the song is basically ready to go, and I just polish it up.  

This one was pretty much ready to go, but I did change one of the synthesizer patches and I added a spooky synth pad...but pretty much, I left it alone.  Oh, I also toughened up the drums without losing the retro lo-fi vibe.  

This is a moody atmospheric piece that fits into what I'm calling "darkwave trap"--is that a thing?  I couldn't have just made up that term, could I?    

I think the reason I decided to drop this track now is that, as a type of coldwave, it felt right--a fact compounded by my memory of the original version's music video--a video that combined a POV video of a drive on a snowy night with some northern lights (a direction hinted at in the lyrics of the vocal element of the track.)  So, although it is temporarily warm, dry, and sunny here in Seattle...the video puts me into that pre-Christmas mood.--so, now, the song does too.  

This is a good example of my occasional success at keeping things simple (but, please note, the only thing I did to this track was to paint colors over some of the remaining empty spots.  Maybe I haven't learned as much as I'd like to have...)  

As always, I'd appreciate it if you give this (and every) Interbay track a listen and a like (if you do, of course.)  Consider reposting it, sharing it, adding it to a playlist, leaving a comment...and, most of all, I hope you think that the lure of "new Interbay, every single day" is enough to earn us a FOLLOW.  

(Sad to think that not long ago, I thought we were about to get to 400 followers and, ever since I pointed that out, the numbers stopped growing.  So, the lesson, kids is...never dream!  ;)  )
