Released in 1975, the "Young Americans" album was recorded in the US, where David Bowie was living at the time under the heavy influence of philly soul and early disco sounds. On this record David surrounded himself with musicians from these scenes, most notably Puerto-Rican Guitarist Carlos Alomar, as well as Luther Vandross, who features on various side vocals. 

If "Fame" is, well, the most...famous track of the LP (and David first true hit with the US audience), the song "Young Americans" is extremely groovy as well, with its anthem-like chorus hard to resist.

Here is my "DJ-friendly" drummed-up edit of it.

Young Americans (V4YS All Night Edit)

This one is a nod to the craziest sounds diggers I know, Jeff & Aurel, aka French duo Get A Room!
A while ago, they resurrected "Sexy Thing", a 1978 gem from Bob McGilpin, editing it for one of their highly recommended "Dig Out Your Own Spade" compilations. Here is my House/Nudisco take.

Bob McGilpin x Get A Room! - Sexy Thing (V4YS I Say Rework)

One of the many recordings of Chaka Khan with Chicago band Rufus, "Live In Me" is part of their 1979 album "Masterjam", produced by Quincy Jones. 

Warm and groovy, this song is also a bit "cheesy" to me by moments, so here is a nudisco rework, where I kept the grooviest parts while adding some punchier beats & bassline.

Rufus & Chaka Khan - Live In Me (V4YS Rework)

Released in 1983 alongside the album "Voyou", "Les Princes des Villes" has always been one of my favorite track by French musician &amp; producer Michel Berger.

Here is a DJ-friendly revisit, where I tried to retain the track's inherent groove, while beefing up the beats, tentatively adding a sweet electro' touch &amp; lightening up the sung parts. 
Let's keep having "des idées bizarres":)

Les Princes Des Villes (V4YS Bizarre Rework)

A Soul, Funk & R&B singer, multi-instrumentalist, producer and arranger, Leroy Hutson is probably slighltly less well known than the Marvin, Donny or Curtis of this world. He's nonetheless a cornerstone of this legendary 70's music scene.

Here's my refreshed DJ-friendly take of one of my favorite track by him, "Don't It Make You Feel Good", released in 1976 as part of the "Hutson II" album.

A classic rare groove cut from Jamaican singer Sonya Spence, "Let Love Flow On" was released in 1981 as part of her LP "Sonya Spence Sings Love".
Here is my nudisco-kind-of revisit of it.

Opening this Spring affair is French retouch maestro and Noc Boots series veteran V4YS with his creamy disco reggae interpretation of "I'm in Luv". Continuing the vibe is Moscow based rework specialist Rare Cuts and his breezy Brazilian groove "Branco Amigo". Sub37 follows suit with the melodic synth wave re-edit "Love Mission" Noc Boots curator Cloak Dagger closes out Vol.9 with "Come To Me" a filter heavy deep disco take on an essential 80's RnB classic! Keep Noc'n those boots!
