Debris of the Mindfield is now “Amper&ound” or AMPERSOUND.  Glad to be back I lost everything in October including my fiancé and her two lovely daughters. I love them all very dearly. It’s just too painful to keep the same name.  So with AMPER&OUND￼ I am alas, ready to start playing music again. I’m going to make my music more upbeat, positive inspirational, but also will have some very honest songs like usual that could be kind of perceived as negative but it’s really not. It’s just life experience, and I hope people can relate to it. I miss my musical partner dearly. I love her so much. So I’ll work hard to put together good music and I’ll continue learning how to produce it and just forgive a lesser voice, because my former musical partner and fiancé had a beautiful professional train voice that improved my songs. so with that a new feature.  If you would like to work to collaborate, I am always welcome. And of course I always need production.

RECORDING HISTORY:   About me:   A few decades of experience!   I’ve been writing, performing and producing music since my late teens, keeping up with tech advancements. With my recording, practices and live performances in bands, I have well over 10,000 hours of experience! 

I am on the Waves subscription plan, which with my DAW, Logic Pro, and other software purchases, gives me lots  of options to get the best sounds and loudness!  Add my speaker system and studio reference headphones, constant software and skills upgrades, and I am ready and able!

Musicianship:  I play drums, electric and acoustic guitars, electric bass, and keyboards. I sing, harmonize well. Primary influences: Beatles (and George Martin), Brian Eno, David Bowie, Elton John, & Leonard Cohen. 

I am in this for the joy of creating music.  It has always been that way, since my first transistor radio (!) to hours of absorbing the masterful sounds of my influence for hours on end…and blending them with my abilities.

I started on two cheap reel-to-reel recorders in 1970, using  a surprisingly successful sound-on-sound technique (in my late teens and early 20s).  I moved to a professional reel-to-reel sound-on-sound for a spell (later 20s), and then eventually to 4-track cassette mixing recorder, mixing to reel, with several effects units (later 30s). 

I took a 14 year break from the mid-90s on, as work and family became all-consuming.  I retired from working in July 2018.  I then began writing/recording again that August, now in the digital era with GarageBand at first, then Logic Pro late winter of 2020.  

I also played drums, then guitar, and sang, in the local covers-band, Revolver...which I left in 2021.  I record/produce other artists and add instruments as needed.  Thanks for reading all this!

Farhad Harati was born on January 25th, 1970. Composing has been part of his preoccupation for addressing the world around him, and teaching to art students and conducting Naamira Choir were among his valuable achievements in the past three decades. In recent years, Farhad Harati has composed music about serious issues of the world. Besides holding numerous concerts and producing outstanding works, he has always tried to deal with profound humanistic concepts in his works, and to critique challenging conditions of the world in the beginning, and then to produce distinguished works with social themes. As an artist and composer, he has always understood the importance of training art students andhas employed them in his large choir, Naamira, to produce archaic and epic works with an artistic attitude. He established Naamira Choir as the first independent and non-governmental choir after the Islamic Revolution in the first half of 1990s. His cooperation with the United Nations and the Environment Organization and the production of works on the themes of AIDS, humans, and war encouraged him to stage big concerts in the most prestigious halls of the country. Producing choral and archaic music is among his fields of activity, and he himself sings in his music pieces. His works have a language without a specific alphabet but have an impressive expression of emotional moments. He can talk without any language at all, and at the same time express his feelings through music. He is composer of seven music album and one EP and 15 Singles.
