"I love your music. We should collaborate at some point". That was the first message I received about 9 years ago from Fanesha Fabre who is the collaborator of this EP. Fanesha Fabre is a Producer/Singer/Songwriter from Miami, Florida, and the daughter of the legendary Dominican Painter and Sculptor Vicente Fabre. For a pure coincidence, we found out that both our fathers were painters. This mutual influence gave certainly a special effect on our music. I found that her voice and the world she creates were fascinating and ennui. The music I create is basically melancholic and that made me think that we fit perfectly together. And that is how this EP project started. We never actually met/spoke to each other in person, which led to a very modern and contemporary way of music collaboration through technology.

We believe the music we created is in a way universal and that after 9 years of a long hibernation, we are finally happy to share our world with you. The album cover artwork is by my father Saburo Aoshima who passed away in 2001. The painting expresses the feelings in our music very well. This is the reason why I chose that specific artwork. The title of the painting is "16" a mysterious name that recalls the mystery of our music.

Following the massive success of Omniverse, which saw support from some of the biggest names in the scene and reached the Beatport progressive house Top 10, Second Sine returns to Yomo Records with a stunning 3-track EP.

I Was There is a driving progressive gem featuring Andrej's signature sounds including heavy percussion, techy stabs, and atmospheric textures atop an irresistible groove.

Tape Wreck is even more on the techy side of the genre and immediately grabs you with its rolling bassline and cavernous synth stabs. The break with its haunting, complex harmonies allows you to take a little breather before the pounding beats drop back in again.

Within My Heart once again showcases Second Sine's immens production skills. With its lush, almost housey chords and sprinkles of reversed saxophone the track is a deeper affair, yet with enough punch to keep you going on the dancefloor.

When a new talent joins our forces it doesn't always mean that he is a newcomer, that’s is Hugo Rolan’s case. Hailing from the North of Spain he’s always been into techno, since the golden days of the nineties, first as a consumer, then as a dj and now as creator. Many years are behind the inception of this album, he’s been tempted by lots of labels to release his works and we are extremely proud to be the chosen one for his long awaited debut.

Along eleven tracks he explores every corner of proper techno, from floating beatless exercises, to abstract broken rhythms or hyponic four to the floor workouts.
His sound is sometimes obsessive and repetitive or rugged and abstract … or simply tooley but always timeless.

There are definitely solid Birmimgham_ ish roots but also some Detroit influences are perceived in his sound palette, exactly the hybridness we like most here at Warm Up.

His repertoire is well balanced style wise, with all tracks embroidered on a pristine sound design and administered on detailed and expertly crafted arrangements.

Ciclo Hipnoptico opens with cosmic arpeggios spiced with scifi bleeps on a floaty introduction.

Sistema Antigua and  Modificación Binaria, use broken rhythms as main percussive sources, 

Emergencia Icónica and Asistencia Confusa, rely on synth lines without noticeable drums.

Distribución Lineal, Anomalía Reversible, Tecnología Futura, Disociación Sonora and Parámetros Orbitales are attemporal sci fi techno pieces of the highest level.

Sometimes to be patient is the key to make attemporal music and Hugo Rolán is the perfect example.


ESPAÑOL

Cuando un nuevo talento se une a nuestras fuerzas no siempre significa que es un recién llegado, ese es el caso de Hugo Rolan. Proveniente del norte de España, siempre ha estado involucrado en el techno, desde los años dorados de los noventa, primero como consumidor, luego como dj y ahora como creador. Muchos años están detrás del inicio de este álbum, ha sido tentado por muchos sellos discográficos para lanzar sus trabajos y estamos muy orgullosos de ser los elegidos para su tan esperado debut.

A lo largo de once temas, explora todos los rincones del techno, desde ejercicios flotantes sin ritmo, hasta ritmos rotos abstractos o directamente enfocados a la pista.
Su sonido es a veces obsesivo y repetitivo o escabroso y abstracto… o simplemente funcional pero siempre atemporal.

Definitivamente hay sólidas raíces en el son ido Birmimgham pero también se perciben algunas influencias de Detroit en su paleta de sonido, exactamente el híbrido que más nos gusta aquí en Warm Up.

Su repertorio está bien equilibrado en cuanto a estilo, con todas las pistas creadas con un diseño de sonido prístino y administradas en arreglos detallados y elaborados de manera experta.

Ciclo Hipnoptico es el primero de los temas, con arpegios cósmicos condimentados con bleeps de ciencia ficción en una introducción flotante.

Sistema Antigua y Modificación Binaria, utilizan ritmos rotos como principales fuentes percusivas.

Emergencia Icónica y Asistencia Confusa, apuestan por líneas de sintetizador sin percusiones perceptibles.

Distribución Lineal, Anomalía Reversible, Tecnología Futura, Disociación Sonora y Parámetros Orbitales son piezas de ciencia ficción techno atemporal del más alto nivel.

A veces tener paciencia es la clave para hacer música atemporal y Hugo Rolán es el ejemplo perfecto.

Knautic's debut on Random Collective is two original tracks of the highest originality. Dark tinges, laced with a quirky edge and shuffle, and a contemplative patience about them. Every last detail has been put and placed with intent, to be appreciated for eternity. 

Remixing these beauties was a tall order. So we enlisted 2 capable parties, Random's own Funka picked up the pace straight to the mid tempo dance floor with a driving bass line and colourful use of the original samples, spoiler, there's a killer jazzy breakdown. 

Finally Kusht came in heavy, with an absolute smashing remix of Redemption. Its a trip, it hits hard, right where the club crew like it.
