Well look who we have here.

It is with our great pleasure to return fan favourite Devro back to the label, following the success of his Murder on the Dancefloor bootleg, and his recent Espresso bootleg with us, we had to see what this 16 year old wizard had been cooking behind the scenes and holy shit, were we in for a treat.

This project has been such a pleasure to work with, we tried to captivate 6 different styles and sub genres of DNB within this EP to show everyone just how versatile young Devro can be when it comes down to the nitty gritty.

There's grott, old school jump up, some rollers and even your daily dose of big hefty fuck off foghorns within this project, and he even drew for upcoming legend and close friend to the label Slonkers to deliver that extra level of skatt on the release.

We are SO proud of this project and it feels like we're sending our youngest off to high school for the first time letting this album out into the wild.

Trident expertly channels the early 90’s classic era with ‘Detonator EP’, a truly epic release which brings the finest Jungle Techno energy of the genres peak and smashes it well and truly into 2023, taking you between the bright lights of the main rooms and deep into darkened sweatbox corners of the most labyrinthine underground rave.

The EP opens with the Jungle Techno monster ‘Detonator’, which guarantees dancefloor explosions like a long-lost Easygroove classic, a techno dread which stomps across all competition with its energetic mix of ominous synths and squelchy acid lines.

The amen-led ‘Far-Away Dreams (VIP)’, builds on the hypnotic bell tones of the original track, and toughens things up to move into a heads-down dancefloor direction.

‘XTC’ showcases Trident’s burgeoning skills and creativity, with his trademark dub techno influences overlapping beautifully with euphoric rave moments for an energetic yet introspective workout.

The EP closes with ‘Detonator (Microcosm Remix), which sees the Codename: newcomer turn the original on its head with a rolling hardcore junglist remix which complements the original perfectly, and primes it for destruction in more break oriented dancefloors.

Trident - XTC

This track was the last tune me and my good friend neil spoke about on a train to belgium A few weeks before he sadly was taken by cancer. 

He wanted to get it out as soon as possible and I'd intended on releasing it as part of a remix EP. 

Serial Killaz and I have decided we're going to release the track through their webstore where you can choose to donate. 100% of the proceeds will go to the family.
