Really wonderful job! I love the meaning and story of the lyrics. I highly appreciate that this is an allegory, that is, a story told to communicate an idea! Many times I wish that modern music would use more in-depth lyrics rather than the minimum of "I'm broken" or "hurt" or "at the end of my rope". Your song paints a vivid story with the lyrics, and the music adds the desperation of the feeling. I really like it! Also, have a hug! *hug*

the song gave me goosebumps. keep it up! tip for growth: the lyrics in the verses don't flow very well at first and the opening is slower than most songs today taking until the chorus to even have a beat drop. this isn't necessarily bad but I was worried I wouldn't like it. (once things ramped up I loved it and thankfully I am the kind of person who listens to the song all the way through). to work on this, definitely recommend finding someone you trust to go over the lyrics with you before the final mix. maybe the disjointedness was intentional to match the apathy you were feeling but either lean into that or try to make it flow more evenly from line to line.  I really love the hopeful message and the chorus. I really like that you included your thoughts and process behind the song, that's so important to help people connect. well done, keep it up.

~ ~ ~ background ~ ~ ~

i wrote this song because i had a distinct feeling of apathy one day that i had never felt before. the feeling of a broken spirit piloting a broken vessel. all systems are failing, everything is so clearly, objectively wrong, and yet at the time, i couldn't care less. what am i supposed to do, anyway? what can i fix when things feel so far beyond repair?

the realization eventually comes screaming that things *are* wrong, that it *is* something to care about, and *something* needs to be done to save yourself. the sirens are too loud and the lights are too blinding to ignore.

everybody is worth saving-- even me and you-- no matter how hopeless or broken things seem. there's no use in caving in to mean brain monsters when you've fought to come this far.

except, instead of jumping out of a self-destructing spaceship, maybe consider talking to someone and giving them a hug instead. ^u^ <3 this world could use a little bit of love~ <3
