"Love Me" is a sentimental parody composed by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller at 1954, later, 1956 was it recorded and popularized by Elvis Presley.
Conceived as a parody of country and western music, it was initially recorded by R&B duo, Willy & Ruth, in 1954 (Spark 105),
garnering a review spotlight in Billboard on August 14. Willie Headen was the lead singer of a vocal group, the Honey Bears,
and Ruth was the wife of another group member. That record was quickly followed the same year with cover versions by Georgia Gibbs,
Connie Russell, Billy Eckstine, Kay Brown, the Four Escorts, the Billy Williams Quartet, the Woodside Sisters and the DeMarco Sisters,
and in January 1955 by Jimmie Rodgers Snow. Most of these records were well reviewed in the trades, but none was a hit.

Das Lied wurde fast 20 Jahre zuvor geschrieben und 1964 bereits von mehreren Künstlern aufgenommen. Das Lied wurde erstmals am 20. November 1947 von Peggy Lee mit Dave Barbour und seinem Orchester für Capitol aufgenommen. Zwei Wochen später nahm Frank Sinatra das Lied am 4. Dezember 1947 mit Axel Stordahl als Dirigent des Orchesters für Columbia auf, es wurde jedoch erst Mitte 1948 veröffentlicht. Keine der Aufnahmen war jedoch ein Erfolg. Lane spielte für Dean Martin Klavier bei dessen LP-Sessions für „Dream with Dean“, und da noch etwa eine Stunde Studiozeit übrig war und ein Lied fehlte, schlug Lane vor, dass Martin sich an seinem Stück versuchen sollte. Dean war einverstanden, und die kleine Combo aus Klavier, Gitarre, Schlagzeug und Bass spielte eine relativ ruhige, entspannte Version des Lieds (zufällig hatte Martin es fast 20 Jahre zuvor 1948 in Bob Hopes Radioshow und etwa zur gleichen Zeit auch in Martins und Lewis‘ NBC-Radioprogramm gesungen). Fast sofort nahm Martin das Lied für sein nächstes Album neu auf, diesmal mit vollem Orchester und Chor. Sein Label, Reprise Records, war vom Hitpotenzial dieser Version so begeistert, dass sie die LP Everybody Loves Somebody nannten, um daraus Kapital zu schlagen.

Obwohl Dean Martin immer noch ein bedeutender Plattenkünstler war, hatte er seit 1958 keinen Top-40-Hit mehr gelandet. Da die British Invasion die US-Charts beherrschte, hofften nur wenige, dass ein italienisch-amerikanischer Crooner, der seit fast 20 Jahren hauptsächlich Standards sang, viele Teenager überzeugen würde. „Everybody Loves Somebody“ verdrängte „A Hard Day’s Night“ der Beatles vom ersten Platz der Billboard-Charts und landete direkt an der Spitze der Billboard Hot 100 und der Pop-Standard-Single-Charts, wobei letztere acht Wochen lang standen.

Das Lied ist so sehr mit Martin identifiziert worden, dass spätere Versionen unweigerlich mit seiner Version verglichen werden.

"Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime":
The song was written nearly 20 years earlier, and by 1964 had already been recorded by several artists. The song was first recorded by Peggy Lee with Dave Barbour and his orchestra for Capitol on November 20, 1947. Two weeks later, Frank Sinatra recorded the song for Columbia on December 4, 1947, with Axel Stordahl conducting the orchestra, but it was not released until mid-1948. Neither recording, however, was a success. Lane played piano for Dean Martin on his LP sessions for "Dream with Dean," and with about an hour of studio time left and a song missing, Lane suggested that Martin try his hand at his piece. Dean agreed, and the small combo of piano, guitar, drums and bass played a relatively calm, relaxed version of the song (coincidentally, Martin had sung it on Bob Hope's radio show nearly 20 years earlier in 1948, and also on Martin and Lewis' NBC radio program around the same time). Almost immediately, Martin re-recorded the song for his next album, this time with a full orchestra and choir. His label, Reprise Records, was so excited by the hit potential of this version that they called the LP Everybody Loves Somebody to capitalize on it.

Dean Martin, although still a major recording artist, hadn't had a Top 40 hit since 1958. With the British Invasion dominating the U.S. charts, few hoped that an Italian-American crooner who had been singing mostly standards for nearly 20 years would win over many teenagers. "Everybody Loves Somebody" knocked the Beatles' "A Hard Day's Night" off the top spot on the Billboard charts and went straight to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and the pop standard singles charts, staying at the top of the latter for eight weeks.

The song has become so identified with Martin that later versions are inevitably compared to his version.

I'm Walkin'" is a 1957 song by Fats Domino, written with frequent collaborator Dave Bartholomew. The single was Domino's third release in a row to reach No. 1 on the R&B Best Sellers chart, where it stayed for six weeks. It also broadened the singer's crossover appeal, peaking at No. 4 on the pop singles chart. The prominent saxophone solo was played by Herbert Hardesty. Lee Allen was also on sax, Frank Fields on bass, Earl Palmer on drums, and Walter "Papoose" Nelson on guitar.

In 2019, the 1957 recording by Fats Domino on Imperial Records was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

She greets him warmly. Together they stroll through the familiar neighborhood. They also pass the old oak tree where he used to play. With great emotion, he touches the green grass of his homeland.

Suddenly, the man awakens and sees only "four gray walls" around him. He realizes that it was all just a dream and that he is actually in prison. It is the day of his execution. A guard and a sad old priest accompany him to his execution at dawn. He believes he will return to this old oak tree and then be allowed to rest beneath the green grass of his homeland. He believes that he will then meet all his friends and acquaintances, his parents, and especially sweet Mary.

"Green, Green Grass of Home", written by Claude "Curly" Putman Jr. and first recorded in 1965 by singer Johnny Darrell, is a country song made popular by Porter Wagoner that same year when it reached number 4 on the country charts. It was also recorded by Bobby Bare and Jerry Lee Lewis, who included it on his album Country Songs for City Folks (later reissued as All Country). Tom Jones learned the song from Lewis's version and had a worldwide number 1 hit with it in 1966. It was also recorded by Joan Baez on David's 1969 album.

The Russ Morgan version (vocal by The Morganaires) was recorded on January 23, 1950. The recording was released by Decca Records as catalog number 24904. The record first reached the Billboard magazine charts on April 21, 1950, and lasted for 15 weeks on the chart, peaking at No. 10.

Bandleader Ray Anthony's version (vocal by Ronnie Deauville) was also very popular in 1950, peaking at No. 7 on the Billboard charts.

The song made No. 6 on the UK's sheet music charts.

I Can Help (English for "I can help") is a song written by Billy Swan from 1974. The song was released that same year as both a single and on the album of the same name. It was a number one hit in the US for two weeks in late November/early December 1974 and also reached number one in several European countries, including Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, in 1975.

Soon afterward, Elvis Presley also recorded the song, which was included on the album "Today," released in May 1975. Billy Swan, who had lived with one of Elvis Presley's uncles for a time as a young man, was deeply touched that Presley had chosen his song for his next album. Later, Swan recorded a number of Elvis songs for his own release, which appeared on his 1999 album "Like Elvis Used To Do." British pop singer Engelbert Humperdinck covered "The Most Beautiful Girl" on his 1973 album Engelbert: King of Hearts.

"The Most Beautiful Girl" was also recorded by Slim Whitman and released on his 1974 album Happy Anniversary, and the same year by Andy Williams on his album The Way We Were.

Jason Alexander offered a rendition as his character George Costanza on the December 16, 1992, episode of the sitcom Seinfeld titled "The Pick", where he bemoaned the loss of his girlfriend, Susan. The song is featured prominently in the 2018 horror film The Ranger.

It reached number one in the UK charts in 1968.

In 1970, another version was released on the Flying Dutchman album "Louis Armstrong and His Friends,"
recorded with the orchestra of Oliver Nelson.
In 1987, the song was used in the soundtrack to the film Good Morning, Vietnam.
In this film, "What a Wonderful World" is used as a contrast to violent scenes (e.g., bombings).
The song has also been used in other films such as "Meet Joe Black", "12 Monkeys", "Bowling for Columbine", "Journey to the Mysterious Island", and "Madagascar".
