This song is from me soul coming from the hell I have lived because of so many years of drug addiction and the depths of depravity I was in because of heroin and meth! It's full of love and beauty which has lit up my life!

This is my testimony of a journey through the harsh reality that is my life. No matter how things got or what horrible event happened I never lost my passion for playing the guitar. I am a recovering heroin addict, clean for about a year now, but what I endured during those years is hard to believe. I am the survivor of multiple multiple overdoses. I have been shocked back to life more times than I'd like to admit and I have seen the darkness of the otherside. For overdose victims it's like your soul parishes and your existence is nill. You have no clue you're dying... you just fade out as soon as the rush hits. I never knew death could feel so good. I lost every friend I had growing up due to the opioid epidemic that plagued central Kentucky and decimated my generation completely. All a statistic it's like it's not even realistic. I survived an attempt on my life a couple years ago as well. Somebody I thought I was cool with slipped poison into my shit and I shot it. By the grace of God I missed most of it and it absorbed into my muscle rather than hit me instantaneously through my blood stream. After that, when I arrived home a few minutes later it hit me and the next 8 hours were absolute hell. I experienced a fear so strong, knowing my life was about to end, that all I could do was lay and scream, kick, and thrash. I remember being strapped down in the ambulance kicking and screaming, the pain so intense it felt as if I was in hell, and the images of demons surrounding me and the images of my mother and sister dying horribly has never left my mind. The doctors had to inject the equivalent of 45 valumes into my blood stream to knock me out to save my life. I remember very vividly laying in the hospital, barely clinging to life and fighting to stay alive, when a melody entered my mind very abruptly, and it seemed to be from, what I can only describe as angelic, the heavens and angels. The melody repeated over and over and all I could think of was how bad I wanted to play it on the guitar. It was enough to give me the strength I needed to survive the night. When I woke I remembered nothing but the melody. My mind was scrambled and I was very ill, coming off heroin at the same time, and I was visited by a woman that got me into treatment where I stayed for a month and got clean. During my stay I, remembering the melody, wrote it on the guitar. It was a beautiful masterpiece that actually was my first release called "Tears Don't Cry". That song literally saved my life as well as the guitar. I think I wouldn't have made it through that night if I didn't have the passion for playing the guitar obsessively! This is just a small chapter of my life. The rest is well....nothing in life is free. The cost for happiness, my joy, was a lifetime of pain and suffering that you don't want to know !!!! Now, though, I am accomplishing a lil ife long ambition and dream to be a well known great guitar player .... today I just found out that my cover of Bark At The Moon was featured in several different guitar magazines and websites, one being my dream since I was a teen...to be featured in Guitar World! I sure as hell paid dearly for it.....Thank you God for the many chances to live you have given me. It will not go in vein!

My name is Josh De La Rosa and I am The Metal Mexican. I have been playing the guitar for 23 years now, and it has become a life long passion. At the age of 24, at the precibus of my playing, I was shot in the left hand by a 9mm pistole. I didn't let that slow me down though. I regained my flexibility through exercises and stretches, but little dod I know it had a more lasting effect that bothers me more now. Because of that I had to find a unique sitting position and hand positioning that would not hurt my hand when I played.  In doing so my abilities skyrocketed!!! I have developed a style of my own which involves very unique finger picking techniques which optimize my speed and accuracy infinitely. My picking technique is flawless as well. My style is classical guitar with a twist of metal, metal speed, neo classical, alternative, and rock. Some of what I do simply defies logic and goes against the true order of guitar playing capabilities. I like to call it Classical Misanthrope for the brilliance, speed, chaos, and beauty. Not many people on the world suffer my pain...and the ones that do aren't alive today! Maybe one day my life will change, but until then I'm gonna be me cause I'm fuckin insane!!!
