Heart Full Of Dirt

An ode to loss and heartache, Between Hello And Goodbye was written and produced by Kendall and recorded with her band The Belgraves at Roundhead Studios with Paddy Hill on engineering duties.

“Between Hello And Goodbye is about someone coming to terms with the end of a relationship. They have gotten over the initial shock but they are still only just getting by each day,” says Kendall. “They acknowledge that things will be better in time but for now they just want to be allowed to feel sad.”

The feel of the song - with its upbeat indie-country vibe; moody drums and warm bassline - sits in contrast to the subject matter. Kendall also says she wanted to allow space and distance between the vocal and the instrumentation. “There is an anxious heart-beat-like drum that follows a pretenseful whistle, hinting at the protagonist’s attempt to show the world that they are doing ok when deep down they aren’t.”

Your Mamma Won't Like Me is the second single from her upcoming album, accompanied by a stylized performance video that was filmed, directed, produced and edited by award-winning director Amber Beaton Director.
Kendall masterfully puts her own spin on the title track to rock pioneer Suzi Quatro’s iconic 1975 album YOUR MAMMA WON’T LIKE ME, bringing a rockabilly vibe to a track originally steeped in rock ‘n’ funk. It sees the meeting of two undeniably powerful forces; Kendall’s magnetic and mesmerising toe-tapping energy, and the sexy swag Suzi poured into the track during its reign over the charts in the 70s.
For Kendall, ‘Your Mamma Won’t Like Me’ encapsulates being unapologetically yourself.
“It represents reaching a point of caring less about what others are going to think of you, and consciously owning and being who you are. It’s about speaking your mind and not letting anyone try to define you - which I feel Suzi really embodies.”

Your Mamma Won't Like Me (Suzi Quatro Cover)

Kendall Elise, is back with a sensual new single, ‘I Want’. The moody track is the third and final single to be released off her upcoming sophomore album, LET THE NIGHT IN, out Friday, August 27.

With its trance-like pulse and minimalist arrangement, ‘I Want’ walks the line between wanting to express the dark side of lust and grappling with the internal fear of rejection. 

Building to soaring organs and guitars, Kendall says: “It's finally admitting out loud to your object of desire, your all-consuming longing for connection, having it reciprocated, and then the resulting high.”
