I hate the way I look when I wake up 
But you never noticed a difference in the morning 
You took my picture and I’ve never felt more pretty than in that moment smiling at you

I’ve got this feeling in my bones 
Maybe one day I could call you home 
But some times I second guess 
I guess sometimes I’m a mess 

You’re like walking towards a red light 
But the second you hit the line the light turns green 
driving to fast with the windows down 
Screaming like we don’t care anyone’s around 

I’ve got this feeling in my soul
Like I’ve been here before but I don’t know 
maybe that makes me sound crazy

When I was a kid my mom painted 
A picture of the sea on my wall 
Sometimes when I was sleeping 
I’d wake up to a seabird call 
    It was warm on the day that I was born 
My dad took my out to see the sun 
Sometimes the cold still haunts me 
With a chill deep inside of my bones 
   I’ve found some comfort laying on the ground 
Would I be happier with no one else around 
But the feeling of skin on skin 
Is better than anything else I’ve found 
     When I was a kid I wasn’t lonely OR when I was a kid my mom painted 
I played with the birds in the trees 
Now I’m always seeking company 
Did I forget the feeling of a warm summer breeze 
    When I was born I couldn’t sleep 
I think I didn’t know how to dream yet 
But now I have a feeling and I can’t keep it 
Without waking in the middle of the night 
    I’m dreaming in black and white 
The color dreams just don’t feel right 
Everything’s to real but not quite sharp 
Like I took pictures but their all out of focus
    I’ve started painting in the sun 
And I try to stop dreaming of someone 
Laying on my back in the grass 
I’m still dreaming to fast
