"I Want You Back" is a song recorded by The Jackson 5 for the Motown label. It was released in 1969, and in early 1970, it became a number-one hit single. The song, along with a b-side cover of Smokey Robinson & the Miracles' "Who's Lovin' You", was the only single from the first Jackson 5 album, Diana Ross Presents the Jackson 5. It went to number one on the soul singles chart for four weeks and held the number-one position on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for the week ending January 31, 1970. It was written by The Corporation.

In Locked Up!, Tori, Cat, Jade, Trina, Robbie, André, Beck, and other Yerbanian convicts perform this song for the Yerbanian Chancellor and those invited to the event, used as a ploy for a prison break. There is also a Victorious music video released for it. When the song is over, in a reference to The Sound of Music, the group's collective name is announced twice before a guard goes to find them and returns, shouting "They are gone!", and when the chancellor finds out that the students from Hollywood Arts High School have escaped, he screams, "I WANT THEM BACK!" which may have something to do with the title of the song.

"I Want You Back" remains the only song covered by the Victorious cast on the show that was written by a third party.
