The Devil I Wont Dance With (Hypnotone Mix)

When the citizens of Brangs songs go on vacation, they don’t do Vegas. They are priced out of Reno. You will find them in a motel room with a kitchenette just outside of downtown Sparks.

When they clean the house, they put all the .22 long rifle rounds they combed out of the shag carpet in an old cereal box. They leave it by the front door to give back to grandpa next time he comes by.

The Brangs have not rinsed out their coffee cup for two years and have no plans to.

The Brangs don’t order a la carte. They will skip breakfast if there is an all you can eat buffet down the road.

Within The Brangs’ songs, truckers, loggers, sweet little old ladies in ragged sweaters, and moonshiners with broken hearts trace their lives across alkaline plains, the parking lots of half abandoned strip malls in small western towns, and drifting across the center line of a cracked midnight highway.

Bodies fall heavily, with all the weight of hard work that came to nothing much, the last thump of a cracking heart that fell in love with the shit that hurts the worst. 

Among the loud guitars and driven drums, you can hear over and over, the pledge of allegiance of the United States of The Brangs:

“This is a bad idea. Here we go.”
