Born in Panama, and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Mikki Afflick comes from a family of musicians, singers, and dancers. Mikki has been a Dee Jay since the age of twelve.  Her label Soul Sun Soul Music founded in 2009, was very instrumental in releasing some early Afro tracks, prior to the genre of Afro House being identified. She is not afraid to push the envelope with her unique sound labeled as "An AfflickteD Soul Mix, which is an infusion of Afro, Latin, Soulful and Tek.  She’s been ranked as one of Traxsource’s Top 100 Afro producers. Born and raised in Boston Ma. I know live in Baltimore Md Married to my incredible wife Patricia Lewis.

I started playing music in mid to late 80’s. Was taught to Dj by my good friend Maurice Wilkey.

My first influence was my family, especially my mother and father. I listened to what they played in the car, house or at any back yard functions.

I my ear for music is broad, It goes from House to Metal , Hard Rock, Jazz,  reggae, Calypso Soft rock etc….

 
Music gets me and I get music.

Arise Radio Starring Voc Walters June 4, 2022

Larry Levan born Lawrence Philpot, July 20, 1954 – November 8, 1992 was an American DJ best known for his decade-long residency at the New York City night club Paradise Garage, which has been described as the prototype of the modern dance club.
Larry Levan was the first superstar DJ.   For 10 years from 1977 to 1987, Levan was the star attraction at New York’s legendary Paradise Garage, writing himself into clubbing lore with swashbuckling DJ sets that took in minimal underground disco, funky rock, dub and synth-pop, which foreshadowed the house music revolution. At the same time, his uncanny ability to mix and tweak records for maximum emotional impact would regularly send his devoted congregation into raptures.  He chose records to sustain all-night dance marathons: often, songs with a thumping midtempo pulse and a cool electronic overlay. Combining bits and pieces of various records, sometimes adding electric keyboards, he created seamless dance music.  The Paradise Garage, a Manhattan venue specifically designed for Levan, is considered by many to be the greatest club ever to exist.
