Entangled

Well, technically, this should be titled "Half-prelude in C Major, Interlude in G Major and Prelude (again) in C Major", but never mind that, I had fun making this little tribute to one of the old masters. See (or listen) if you can recognize the melodies in the middle :)

EDIT: It has come to my attention that the Minuet in G Major, included in the middle part, was (not so) recently found to be actually composed by Christian Petzold (1677-1733), not Bach. So, this is a tribute to him too, I guess.

Prelude, Interlude und Epilogue in C Major

Leaves are falling off the trees 
It’s like they’ve got some bad disease
I can feel the winter doldrums setting in
Like I’ve been popped with a pin
Go out in the yard and grab a rake
Don’t know how much more I can take
I’m wishing we were someplace sunny with palm trees and a beach
Where winter can’t reach
It’s been a crazy trip and somehow, we ended up here
Looks like we’re goanna have winter 
For at least another year
Watching the leaves turn from green to brown, 
They’re falling down
Onto the ground
Those summer days were great
but they went by too fast
We had a blast 
But now they’re past
Some people say they like the like the change of seasons 
But I can think of a lot of reasons
Why I’d rather live in a place that doesn’t get cold
Cause it quickly gets old
On those cold winter mornings
 I’ll have to scrape ice
Off my windshield it’s not goanna be nice
As my fingers grow numb
And frostbite nibbles on my nose  and my toes.
I have PTSD from last winter 
When I walked out of that bar
and I had to spend ten minutes shivering 
while the heater warmed up my car
Driving around with white knuckles 
As you watch for black ice
Every time you tap on the brakes
It Feels like you’re rolling the dice
Watching the leaves turn from green to brown, 
They’re falling down, onto the ground
Those summer days were great
but they went by too fast
We had a blast 
But now they’re past
Autumn’s kind of nice but winter’s coming fast
And we’re goanna get blown away by an icy winter blast
We’ll hunker down inside like two bears in hibernation
And when we go outside, we’ll wish we were on a warm vacation.
