This is unapologetically inspired by the A-side to one of my favorite albums of all time. I'll let you guess which album that is - if you are older than 50 it will most likely be easier.

A lot of us spend our lives chasing a dream, and despite reaching milestone after milestone the dream is always just beyond our reach. If you're lucky all you need to do is stop and think - maybe you're already there. I was reminded about this when told a story about a popular beach boatman asked by a hedge fund manager why he doesn't invest in an additional boat. After many questions the investor tells him that after years he could become so financially successful that he could spend his afternoons with his family and friends. The boatman tells him that after his morning fishing run that is already what he does. 

The guitar is a Logic Pro X Heavy Metal Guitar. For the drums I "mixed it up" a bit by using more reverb on the snare than on the rest of the drums. Also had a hi-hat in there initially but I took it out as I thought it muddied up the sound too much. In general I debated how much reverb to use and progressively used less and less to try and warm it up. For the bass I combined an electric bass with a traditional standing base. I departed from my usual approach of trying to reproduce as natural a piano sound as possible by using equalization to mainly remove some of the high and low end - the purpose being to create a "lo-fi" sound. Finally, the synth is Nord Native and treated with some ringshift to get the moving in and out your ears effect.

A lot going on in this song. The original idea was to take the idea of ostinato to the extreme. This was accomplished by using an arpeggiated Eb throughout - of course there was some work that went into the modulation and envelope of the synth I chose. I used the same synth varying the number of notes and direction of the arpeggios to get the sounds that define the track. 

In music, an ostinato (Italian: [ostiˈnaːto]; derived from Italian word for stubborn, compare English obstinate) is a motif or phrase that persistently repeats in the same musical voice, frequently in the same pitch. Lyrically I wanted to capture the hysteria of the Chinese balloon while addressing the fact that many of us voluntarily allow ourselves to be monitored by the government and private enterprises. We pay for Google Assistants, Alexa, Siri etc and I think I'm not the only that get's the AI saying it didn't understand after periods of absolute silence. It is also a known fact that private enterprises monitor our e-mails and we voluntarily sign up for this  - who knows who is analyzing and parsing that information. I have worked for decades in the telecommunications business and for those that don't know there is a feature called "Lawful Intercept" that all suppliers are obliged to enable - this allows authorities to listen in on any communication they deem fit. Lastly, while using free services like Facebook we allow the monitoring of our habits, many of us with a grudge, but still we allow it, and social media is becoming more and more pervasive so it seems we want more.

Hi friends, I hope you are all doing well.
As you may have noticed (for those who follow my musical creations in Videos on YouTube or in audio on for example all the Streaming platforms where I only put 3 of my 3 Albums, because having them distributed by iMusician worldwide costs money and only earns me pennies a month, but it doesn't matter, or on SoundCloud or Radio Airplay-jango and for music pros on Drooble and the MAGIX community), I have a great musical openness and I like almost all styles, but since the 80s, I have a preference for New Wave, electro, and more recently jazzy styles and therefore jazz mixed with other styles and I like playing the piano bar in live improvisation but also like in this improvisation, mixing piano with electro, I love that.
I improvised this piece not long ago, at home, others I improvised at my darling's, but I much prefer my Piano Olya Pro2 to my CASIO PX S1000 Privia, whether at sound quality, only at the touch level of the keyboard and practicality of the electronic part.
In the past I also made music that was too complex and even some of my colleagues and friends had a hard time assimilating everything, if I can say so, because there were too many tracks playing at the same time. For me, it seemed clear to me, but for others, much less.
And little by little by doing live improvisations recorded and filmed on the spot, I learned to do things much simpler like this music.

Salut les amis, j'espère que vous allez tous bien.
Comme vous avez pu vous en apercevoir (pour ceux et celles qui suivent mes créations musicales en Vidéos sur YouTube ou en audio sur par exemple toutes les plates-forme de Streaming où j'ai mis que 3 de mes 3 Albums, car les faire distribuer par iMusician dans le monde entier coûte de l'argent et me rapporte que quelques centimes par mois, mais peu importe, ou sur SoundCloud ou Radio Airplay-jango et pour les pro de la musique sur Drooble et la communauté MAGIX), j'ai une grande ouverture d'esprit musicale et j'aime pratiquement tous les styles, mais depuis les années 80, j'ai une préférence pour la New Wave, l'électro, et plus récemment les styles jazzy et donc du jazz mélangé à d'autres styles et j'aime jouer du piano bar en impro live mais aussi comme dans cette impro, mélanger du piano à de l'électro, j'adore çà.
Ce morceau je l'ai improvisé il n'y a pas longtemps, chez moi, d'autres je les ai improvisé chez ma chérie, mais je préfère de loin mon Piano Olya Pro2 à mon CASIO PX S1000 Privia, que ce soit au niveau qualité sonore, qu'au niveau touché du clavier et praticité de la partie électronique.
Par le passé je faisais aussi, des musiques trop complexes et même certains de mes confrères et amis, avaient du mal à tout assimiler, si je peux dire, parce qu'il y avait trop de pistes qui jouaient en même temps. Pour moi, ça me paraissait clair, mais pour d'autres, beaucoup moins.
Et petit à petit en faisant des impros live enregistrées et filmées sur le vif, j'ai appris à faire beaucoup plus simple comme cette musique.

I have been a music lover from a very young age and I dare to do everything in music, I have no barriers, just like making myself known.
My strongest wish is to be able to compose for media music such as films, advertising, video games etc ...
I am a studio musician, I have never done a scene and it does not tempt me, or maybe just for improvisation in Live, my specialty because everything comes to me while playing ...
I also like to make my own video arrangements which I put on YouTube accompanied by some of my music, but not all for lack of time.

je suis un adorateur de la musique depuis tout jeune et j'ose tout en musique, je n'ai aucunes barrières tout comme pour me faire connaître.
Mon souhait le plus fort, c'est de pouvoir composer pour des musiques de Médias comme les films, de la publicité, des jeux vidéo etc...
Je suis un musicien de studio, je n'ai jamais fait de scène et ça ne me tente pas, ou peut être juste pour faire de l'improvisation en Live, ma spécialité car tout me vient en jouant...
j'aime aussi faire mes propres arrangements vidéos que je met sur YouTube accompagnées de certaines de mes musiques, mais pas toutes par manque de temps.
