Hamp is a Central Valley music promoter who books bands such as Brujoz, Guaya, Shop Dog, and Roman Around. He came on the pod to promote his show at Tioga Sequoia this Thursday, February 1st.  It was cool to ask Hamp how he got into being a promoter and about his passion for music. We also recorded an impromptu country song about seeing Shop Dog and having beers. Endrique is the lead singer and guitarist for the indie band, Guaya. Born in Nochistlán, Zacatecas, and raised in the central valley on a love for beating pans on the kitchen floor and listening to his uncles playing two chord rancheras, Endrique grew up with a love for music that grew into what we know as Guaya. On this podcast, we discuss and listen to Guaya while enjoying a michelada, and we get an in-depth look at Endrique's influences ranging from soul, jazz, and Spanish music. I also heavily recommend Guaya's Spotify playlists, 77, if you're interested in hearing 77 of the most classic and romantic 60's Motown, Spanish, and rock n roll songs that makes sense of the diverse influences of Endrique's songwriting.
