Oscar Cassamajor is artist in Residence of Reflection at Hectolitre.
Oscar introduces us to his professional parkour, shares the challenge of being artist and cultural mediator simultaneously, reflects about a place of art in society and difference between artistic and scientific research, and tells us about his concept of growing fruit trees in city.

Episode 04 - Oscar Cassamajor

Naama Freedman is an Israeli artist, musician, performer, and DJ based in Hamburg, Germany. She works in the fields of video, film, installation, and incorporates performances with music and text. In her works she uses historical references and text reciting to raise questions about intimacy, control, empathy, sexuality, the randomness of violent behavior, and the notion of determinism in human nature.
In her residency Naama will develop her radio-art concept - “Little Miss Freedman’s Variety Show” - a celebration or mayhem of music, language, sound, and text, featuring a mixture of storytelling, poetry reading, live music, and more, traveling in between languages and genres. She will create an aural journey that will transform the listener into a Flâneur based on the history, music, and peculiar stories that give Marolles neighborhood and Brussels their unique nature.

Episode 05 - Naama Freedman

Ksenia Anokhina is a young artist exploring the relation among new-tech, power and bureaucracy. Their codes and patterns, visual manifestations and ethical implications for individual and social life. Coming from Moscow and studying arts in Netherlands, Ksenia joined us at Hectolitre for a three months, collaborating with Deborah Levy and Claire Williams on their ongoing art research.

"David Labi is a London-born, Brussels-based ethical storyteller and founder of Good Point [https://goodpointagency.com/], which helps cause-driven organisations increase impact through better storytelling. Currently he's developing and performing a one-man show Pieces of a Man, which tells the story of his late Holocaust-survivor father and explores themes of fatherhood, trauma, identity, and joy. He’s also pioneering a related workshop on "Parental Storytelling".

Episode 7 - David Labi

We meet with the artist Martina Petrović to speak about her artistic project "The Last Straw", and her collective "The School of Love". We don't hesitate to explore the feeling of being artists in diaspora, in Brussels, being "aliens".  Martina invites us to visit her angle on Balkans rituals, cycles of grief, and what it means to live in an art space, as the Hectolitre is.

Hectolitre.FM c'est quoi ? C’est un micro podcast qui donne la parole aux acteurs de l’Hectolitre, espace pluridisciplinaire et singulier à Bruxelles. Autrefois boutique d’antiquité, puis club échangiste, c’est aujourd’hui un écosystème artistique et culturel qui accueille résidents, expositions, performances, lectures, écritures, projections…

 Je suis Manon Tagand, et  j’ai découvert l’Hectolitre en septembre 2019, donc il y a un peu plus d’un an  quand je suis arrivée à Bruxelles pour mes études. Nous irons ensemble à la rencontre de celles et ceux qui font vivre ce lieu si particulier.
