While speaking with Fran Curry on TippFM I extend my heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of Peg Hanafin, who passed away peacefully recently while surrounded by her devoted family at the Sue Ryder Homes in Holycross.

Fran also gave me the opportunity to address many issues which I have raised publicly over the last number of weeks. 

These included

•	when does the Government intend to review the numbers permitted to attend sporting events as the current restriction on numbers is neither logical nor justified.

• The case of traditional pubs versus pubs who service food. Currently there exists huge anomalies and imbalance.  I have spoke personally with both Taoiseach Micheal Martin and Tánaistes Leo Varadkar and asked if rural pubs would be permitted to reopen on 10th August. 

• During Leaders’ Questions on Tuesday 28th of July, I questioned An Taoiseach Mícheál Martin about the future of the Dean Maxwell Nursing Unit in Roscrea. The 50-year-old building is in urgent need of an upgrade, with many elements of the facility not meeting HIQA standards. 

• I also confirmed that Cut Loose 2020 is cancelled, however it will be back in 2021, bigger and better than ever.
