Hard to Do

A haunting cinematic ballad exploring themes of unrequited love and silent observation. This melancholic composition weaves together rich piano melodies, ambient strings, and minimalistic electronic textures to create a deeply emotional soundscape. This is another of a short series of covers of myself singing, ( with solo ukulele), some of my all-time favourite songs. This  song was written in the early 60's by Canadian (of Cree Indian decent), Buffy St Marie.

My apologies, seems I was not singing clearly enough for the AI  to capture the lyrics, several  "typos" exist, and I need to correct and remix.

Do outro lado do vidro.

I enjoyed creating this beat from scratch and continued to add to it over the course of several weeks. I used a combination of synths over the beat and added the guitar, mixing in some bluesy polish from my new pedalboard. A combination of EVH phaser and JHS 424 gain stage, mixed with a Boss IR-2 clean tone. Lyrically, talking about transcending from rain running into olive trees, descending into the clouds, and playing a ukulele. The ringing bell tone served as the foundation for the song, accompanied by the chords. It’s up there on my strange meter; I had to share it immediately. You know how those morning runs always start out kind of difficult until you get into that pace and experience the runner's high. That’s how I feel about this song.
