tri movadoj por Khaos is a quasi-neoclassical composition for woodwind quintet. The work is divided into three movements (palindromo, intermezzo, resumigo) and makes use of palindromic structures and a rotational matrix as the foundation for the composition. The work was written for Khaos Wind Quintet in conjunction with the ensemble’s residency at the Frost School of Music in the Fall of 2021.

An assembly line is a process in manufacturing through which parts are assembled in sequence as a final product is produced. 

The production process of an assembly line is often unwavering in nature, with the process moving promptly from one station to the next. ASSEMBLY is a piece for wind ensemble that can be characterized by its resolute pulse, motivic development, and dynamic structure– comparable to the nature of an assembly line.

shadow of a nightmare utilizes a recording of an older work of mine entitled Fever Dream, which was written for alto saxophone and electric guitar. shadow of a nightmare deconstructs and processes the recording of Fever Dream to create a new electronic composition. The recording is spliced and processed through a diverse array of plugins and effects, most notably spectral plugins, which are capable of manipulating the recording through granular synthesis. Many aspects of this composition heavily consider the spectral makeup of particular sounds, as well as the spectral profile that is being represented at any given point during the piece.

Benjamin Koller (b. 1999) is an award winning composer residing in Miami, Florida. Koller’s output exhibits a wide variety of interests, including vocal music, Theatre, improvisatory performance practice, and electroacoustic composition. Koller’s sinfonietta Meza Muziko was awarded honorable mention in the annual Ibis Ensemble Composition Competition at the Frost School of Music. In July of 2021, Koller’s work Fever Dream was selected for the SCI Region IV Student Composer Mixtape. Additionally, Koller has written for a variety of ensembles, including Hypercube, loadbang, and Khaos Wind Quintet. Koller is a member of University of Miami's SCI chapter, and has served as the Public Relations Director for the New Music Consortium at the University of South Florida. Koller is pursuing the M.M. in Composition at the Frost School of Music at University of Miami. Previous and present composition teachers include Dorthy Hindman, Benjamin D. Whiting, Paul Reller, and Baljinder Sekhon.
