takytheartist is a Papua New Guinean and Torres Strait Islander-descendant singer-songwriter/rapper based in Meanjin/Brisbane, Queensland.

Inspired by the likes of The Notorious B.I.G, J.I.D, JAY-Z, Aminé and Vince Staples. takytheartist began recording music in 2018 with a DIY home set-up, like most during the SoundCloud era.

Nowadays, takytheartist is the culmination of explosive punk-aesthetics as well as witty, punchy flows and lyrics, all tied together with groovy, speaker-knocking instrumentals akin to classics from the 2000's era of American Hip-Hop.

Additionally, takytheartist's innate musical versatility lends him to genre-hop and pursue RnB/Pop ballads. Making anthems for the lovesick individuals at home waiting on a distant lover.
