"Running It Home" is all about the day to day life that I will miss when I'm old and gray; my wife's beautiful tattoos, rearranging the house, dirty bare feet, foggy windows in the summer rain, fighting, loving, feeling vulnerable, feeling strong, moving through with people. Bird On The Wall

I wrote "Anybody Out There" a few weeks ago, but it really fits how I feel right now (03/27/20).  I really admire the enlightened types who can "Be with" all parts of realty as it is.  I sometimes feel overwhelmed with how things are, with change, with suffering etc... 

One of my favorite parts of this recording is the guitar on the bridge part.  I got that guitar for $69 at a pawn shop and it just has a cool vibe.

Anybody Out There

"Will You Grow" is inspired by my wife Natalie Lace.  Anyone who knows her or has been to our house knows that she has a green thumb and a love for growing plants that is second to none.  I asked her what I should write about and she said "me and my plants".  This song is about her grace and beauty growing wonderful houseplants and a super cool garden. <3

Will You Grow

"The Waters" is about storms and calms of life, and sharing them with others. It's a little bit delicate but I kind like that :) My friend and I went into a cave near Independence, MO and recorded the vocals and guitars with natural reverb.

Bennie Neselroad produced and engineered this track and Blaire Geenens kindly played the drum kit.

The Waters

"Heart Strings" is about being best friends with someone.  For me the song is about Natalie. We were working for her dad a few years ago painting a house and it was a long job.  I had just gotten a ukulele and I couldn't stop with this riff so I made it into a song.  Enjoy song seven of the #30DaySessions

Heart Strings

"I'm On My Way" is inspired by my late night drives to visit my girlfriend who later became my wife.  I would get off work at the nightclub at about 4-5am and would go home, shower, and head to see her.  Many mornings I would wake her up at about 6AM and we would watch the sunrise before she went to work.  I would text her "on my way <3" when I was leaving to see her, thus the inspiration for this.

"Devotion + Hallelujah" is a collaboration with the poet, Melissa Ferrer.  Melissa and I became friends this year and I am so thankful for having met her.  She has a way of being that creates beautiful moments with people. Neither of us had done something like this before so it is a bit of an adventure!

"jordan" is a song that was inspired by watching the first 4 episodes of "Midnight Gospel".  It just got me thinking about death and childhood and all the crazy things that are hard to be with.  I highly recommend the show if you haven't checked it out. I leave feeling connected to my heart every time.
