Inspired by "Tracy Goes to New York", Kristan Goes to Atlanta is comprised of records accumulated over the summer of 2010 from a cardboard box marked “FREE” out in front of Absurd Records in Portland, Maine. Dozens of passed up white labels, test pressings, and used vinyl that were chosen either by instinct, previous knowledge or were already owned by me, were brought home and reviewed. The tracks that bombed were completely outnumbered by a multitude of excellent condition classics that would replace older copies, and even more tracks I had never previously owned but had always wanted. Having already intended to dedicate a CD to Kristan Fucci, (who would be leaving Maine and returning to Atlanta in August) relevant tracks were selected for both aesthetic and lyrics, and the result was an eclectic FOUR CD SET of mostly Vintage House from 1987 to 1997. Disc 1 of 4 is an upbeat energetic set featuring late 80's/early 90's House & 80's Garage/Italo/High Energy classics.

5am Closing Set for The 16th and Final BelTek Party

Part 1 is comprised mostly of "BelTek Classics", selections anyone who has attended BelTek since the beginning would recognize.

Spinning the Final Set at BelTek was a great feeling for me having been one of the Original Closers for the first few years. It's a very challenging time slot for many reasons; but it was important for me to pay homage to this long running event and its family members. It would be a challenge to appeal to what is now a mix of Old School BetTek heads and the newer generations with all the "changes" in music since.

I wanted that appropriate chill "Sunrise" feeling, but not put people to sleep. It would be even more challenging to still be "exciting" to a very exhausted crowd who had heard everything for the past two days. I wanted to give a nod to those who remember by playing some selections from past years at BelTek, but also play plenty of brand new material as not to forget the pioneering spirit of days past. It also had meaning to me as a Producer being able to play my Original Work for the first time at BelTek, giving an example of how far we've all come since it first started.

Hope those who were there will recall the feeling when they pop this on. To those who weren't there, nothing will replace being there live; but hopefully you can put this on a good sound system, close your eyes and imagine.

This crazy After Hours "Chill Out" Set, recorded on cassette at Zootz late morning in 1993), starts immediately with a Classic Techno House track spontaneously mixed into a Disco Funk track that happened to have a skip in the record within the first few seconds of playing. This sets the pace for a wild parade of Funk Classics and House Obscurities.
