The sermon today is based off the story of the Transfiguration that can be found in Mark 9:1-9.  The question at hand though is about the transformation that we each can be responsible for in the "new media" landscape.  Our faith is meant to brought into all aspects of our life AND all parts of our life.  Let us all consider how we might bring our faith and values into these new platforms - - -no to convert the world, but to bring peace, love, harmony, and understanding.

On this first Sunday of Lent, we embark on our study of the Gospel of Mark in the first chapter verses 9-15 when Jesus is baptized, pressed into the wilderness to be tempted, and then finally begins his own ministry. A Story In Three Acts

This week guest preacher, Rev. Sarah Sund - Lussier, offers a reflection on Mark 6:6b-13. Our sermon this week continues us in exploration of the Gospel of Mark. The reading was Mark 8:31-38, and the focus of the sermon is specifically to Mark 8:34, "[Jesus] called the crowd with his disciples and said to them, 'If any wish to come after me, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.'" Thus, Pastor Dawn considers with us what that means; and she asks us to consider what we might already be holding that prevents us from picking up the cross.
