A Train That Takes Everything With It
There are moments in life that move in slow motion and fast-forward all at once. Platform three at 4:15 becomes one of those moments, a train station goodbye that feels both eternal and impossibly brief.
She stands there, memorizing details she knows will fade: the smell of diesel mixed with autumn air, the way his jacket holds the October cold, even the specific texture of each fold in the fabric. The announcement board clicks overhead, mechanical and indifferent, while her world narrows to just the two of them. He's written his sister's address on her hand in blue ink, a promise of connection, of future,but it's already smudging from how tightly she's been holding on.
Around them, life continues its ordinary rhythm. A woman eats crackers. A child circles the benches, laughing. Normal things keep happening while the only thing that matters is about to pull away. He checks his watch repeatedly but never actually looks at the time. They both know what's coming.
When the moment arrives, it's exactly as devastating as she feared. Her voice betrays her, saying "go" when every part of her screams "stay." His hand releases hers slowly, not because he wants to prolong it, but because letting go is physically painful. She promised she wouldn't wave. He asked her not to. So she stands frozen, watching him find his window, and when he looks back through the glass, she's still there. She'll always be there, on platform three at 4:15.
"Platform Three" by Aurosa captures the aching beauty of goodbye with heartbreaking simplicity. The melody is purposefully plain, letting the raw emotion of the story take center stage. The female vocalist delivers each line with devastating authenticity, pouring genuine feeling into every word. Backed by Halion Sonic instrumentation (0% AI), this is songwriting at its most human, honest, vulnerable, and achingly real.
