We've been big fans of Leftside Wobble's 'Acid Soul' series, so we are delighted to have him put together a mix for us. Here are some words from him regarding his mix for us:

"Leftside Classics is a retrospective featuring some of the tracks that have meant the most to me over the last five years or so. These are the tracks that somehow always find a way back into my sets, tracks that rise above the transient and tracks that defy limiting genre pigeonholes. My sets have always been about joining the dots, celebrating the eclectic and supporting those tracks that exist in the rich hinterland between dub, funk, disco and house. Hopefully this retrospective captures that overriding ethos.

I've included a small selection of unreleased LW bits and a few exclusive versions of well known staples to keep things pushing forward too.

Clandestino 026 - Leftside Wobble

This 2000 album by the Austrian production duo known as Tosca (consisting of Richard Dorfmeister of Kruder and Dorfmeister, and Rupert Huber, both of G-Stone fame), is integral in the history of instrumental hip/trip hop and electronic music. I am excited to share it with viewers and listeners in the form of a mix. Its meditative nature makes for an extremely chill, downtempo evening of listening. It has almost a dream like, out of body sound to it. Named after the buddhist monk, Shunryū Suzuki, the album is a concept of pure relaxation, and even astral projection, transcendence, and a new beginning.

Viennese don Peter Kruder’s gradual metamorphosis from king of downtempo to purveyor of classy house and techno was perhaps one of the more unexpected shifts amongst electronic luminaries of last few decades, but it has not been in vain. 

His work as half of Kruder & Dorfmeister soundtracked a million crack-ons, afterhours, comedowns, smoke-outs and lounge sessions and remains some of the most timeless material of the recent era.

Under his own name, he has built a long-running relationship with DJ Hell and his International Deejay Gigolo imprint, releasing several EPs of thought-provoking 4/4 as well as releases on Stefan Goldmann’s Macro and Compost Black Label. His mix for Monologues is a journey through some of his finest remixes, showing his respectful and subtle skill in reworking everything from Daft Punk-produced electronic soul to bossa nova and jazz. It’s an honour to have him contribute to the series.

"I finally got my smooth-DJ fix at Burning Man earlier this month where we took an actual (decommissioned and on-wheels) yacht out into the white open sands and had a great cruise with about 150 people," says Jesse Houk aka The Scumfrog. "I recorded the set and this is the result."

SLC-based DJ and producer, Casey D (DJDITTY) pushes the boundaries of DJing and explores all the corners of the electronic space.

While spending much of his time in the jam band scene and joining various bands as a jam lead guitar player, following his favorite band, Phish; DJing has always been another passion and hobby for the artist.

With a production history in psytrance and house, DJDITTY enjoys the downtempo trip hop, minimal deep house, and jazzstep/drum and bass scenes the most, with long awaited projects coming soon, and a multitude of DJ mixes.

With an ear for jazz and as a jam guitar player, jazz and electronica come together in this music to produce a refined, psychedelic atmospheric sound.
