Dreams really come true: when we heard Tomemitsu’s beautiful lo-fi indie songs on the cassette “m_o_d_e_s” back in 2013 we fell in love! Especially the track “In Dreams” followed us around for months. Humming it in the subway, singing along in the car.
Many dreams later we found out that our friend and fellow Hamburger Stefan Marx also loves the song and even named an art show after it. Coincidence? Surely not, so together we made the plan to release “In Dreams” on vinyl.
Luckily Tomemitsu himself was very happy with the idea and even allowed RSS Disco to remix the song. The notorious DJ and production trio upped the tempo to head-spinning 99bpm, recorded additional drums & bass and added several minutes of pleasure.
Finally, the two tracks will be released on vinyl for the first time. Screen-printed records, including a poster in a clear sleeve.

La version reggae-dub d'un grand classique de rock psychédélique. De quoi faire frémir les hippys des seventies. 

Mike Pelanconi, plus connu donc sous le nom de Prince Fatty est un producteur et ingénieur du son britannique, accompagné sur ce titre de Shniece Mcmenamin. Ils s'approprient ensemble un grand hymne psychédélique, White Rabbit, sorti en 1967 en le rebaptisant Black Rabbit. C'est typiquement avec ce genre de son qu'on peut parler de réinterprétation. La voix soul de Shniece Mcmenamin se mêle à un parti pris dub - qu'on attendait en connaissant Prince Fatty - mais ce dernier conserve les éléments propres du son original, et particulièrement la fameuse basse. 

White Rabbit c'était un peu LA chanson phare de tous les adeptes de LSD et autres drogues pendant les 70's.Toujours interdit, je le rappelle ! Mais en fait, le son ne parlait pas tellement de dope, mais d'Alice au pays des merveilles. Bon au final, c'est sensiblement la même chose. 
Revenons à Prince Fatty et Shniece Mcmenamin. Tous deux de grands adeptes des cover, allant de Jefferson Airplaine donc, à Tina Turner, en passant par les fétichistes des boites à rythmes. 

Clairement le roi et la reine du remake. Et tout de suite, on écoute le véritable son à accompagner pour un voyage euphorique. Je nomme Black Rabbit de Prince Fatty et Shniece Mcmenamin sur euradio.
