I recently finished a large project which had been eating up all of my studio time. I'm happy to be back to a place where I can write and post new music. I started this track quite some time ago. I thought I'd dust it off and finish it to get things rolling again. I think I ended up putting more dust on it.

method: some atonal fun with the plastic midi keyboard on a rainy evening
narration: the poem is quite some decades old - last century, millennium even, and all that. it was quite a different life I led back then. the original title is: "an antenna cast into the open" - this also was the first line when I wrote the poem .... but I skipped it for this version, jettisoning the poem into the imbalance that suits its sonification's atonal qualities.

a fishing rod fishing the water
a probe probing deep space
to welcome that other me
out there - infinty bait

there's a mirror to wait
on you - twin travesty
of being tired and stirred by hoping
weak and strong forces that matter
in watching and running the race

oooohh, Ms. Take
oooohh, she will break.

She’s been stealing spiders from her sister's secret store.
Then she pulls their legs off so they can’t walk anymore.
She knows it’s mean but seeing as it’s not against the law,
she now dreams of legless spiders rolling all around the floor. 

She’s been burning bridges at the bottom of our street.
Fast defrosting fridges spill their guts of rotting meat.
She don’t care cos everywhere she tries to put her feet 
there’s hoards of legless spiders keeping everything upbeat. 

Tarantula and wolf. 
Daddy long legs.
Black widow, brown recluse, 
and Sydney funnel-web.
Pork chops and t-bone steak,
and boneless chicken breast.
Ms. Take makes no mistakes. 
Stakes claims when pickin's best. 

Now she’s soothing spiders, stroking softly where they’re sore.
The spiders seem to like it though they can’t walk anymore.
Cos legs are fine but love's divine and this girl loves 'em more 
than them lonely leggy spiders in her sister's secret store.
