Researchers from the School of Psychology at the University of Liverpool talk about the need to 'internationalise' Psychology and to consider how people in different parts of the world might think and interact. Most Psychology research is completed at research focused universities in the 'global West'. One consequence is that our understanding of Psychology is heavily based on on individuals that belong to this group. If we are to develop a true understanding of Psychology and to develop universal theories of behaviour and cognition, we must identify nuances between individuals and cultures and integrate these in to existing models.

Dr Greg Keenan and Dr Freya O'Brien will discuss different areas of International Psychology that are covered as part of the University of Liverpool's first year undergraduate Psychology degree.
